Greetings All,

We would like you to test you are able to connect to our servers. In order to do this please follow the steps in the spoiler below. Please note these may be different depending on the OS that you are using:

Please also flush your DNS. To do this please follow the instructions below:
  • First hold the windows key on your keyboard and press the R key.
  • When the run window appears type CMD into the box and hold Ctrl+Shift and press enter to run an elevated command prompt.
  • When the CMD window opens type ipconfig /flushdns.
  • When you have done this correctly they should see the message "Successfully flushed the DNS resolver cache".
Please try running the Launcher again.
If you still have an issue at this point please continue with the following troubleshooting steps:

Please take a system snapshot using System Restore, note this is not in itself a troubleshooting step but a precaution that allows you to undo changes made to your computer. To create a System Restore point by using System Restore, follow these steps:

Reset the Winsocket Protocol: click the following link then save and run the downloaded file.

If you get a Launcher Timeout error from the launcher you need to force the launcher to update again without timing out, to do this simply delete the .version files from the game directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Bioware\Star Wars - The Old Republic). Because these files are used by the launcher in the patching process the launcher will automatically connect to the patch server and start retrieving the files in the process while at the same time updating itself.

After all of these steps you should be able to patch the game client successfully.

but yesterday we tried FlushDNS and work fine

but today won't success

i tried to resolve with this:

1. check ping to patcher url
2. remove any file in patch folder
3. download microsoft fix software
4. add exception in both firewall & anti virus (launcher.exe & swtor.exe)
5. delete all .version file
6. reboot computer

that's all not resolve anything it's still error 208

ps. Edzjedi, Skrat, kichimaru is live in Thailand (same guild, same ISP) i'm not sure it's problem from our ISP, I try to contact SIP support ASAP. but in your case pls update infra or network connection on server side pls.

yes sir another 2 person from thailand (me and my friend) who have this problem i can t loging at all because of error 208 since yesterday

question : how to keep the log sir ?

Thanks for reporting this to us. To help us look into your issue I'd like you to run a Pathping to our patch server.

Type ‘cmd’ in the ‘Search programs and files’ field. A black icon will appear called "cmd", please right click this and then click "Run as administrator". In the command window, please type in the following command:
  • pathping -n cdn-patch.swtor.com > C:\pathping.txt
A file ‘pathping.txt’ will be created on your local drive C:, which will contain the requested data. Please post this data in your response here.
