I've been playing on a paid account for about a week now, and I have a friend who wants to play, but he wants to play the trial before committing to purchase (even if it is just $20). I know that trial accounts can' t use general chat, trade, or advance any further than level 15, but my question is: if he uses a trial account, can he join groups? Also, what other features are locked for a free trial account?

i was trial at first, if i remember correctly, i could group up.

You can indeed group.

I just got off of trial yesterday

solo, Grouping, and PVP warzones were all fun as a trial

 

I did not try the Galactic Market as a trial.

 

I dont know what all the restrictions are but some of the ones I found were

Crew Skills can only be raised to 40

no cargo hold access

no /who access

20K credit limit

• Friends of SWTOR players will have access to all the character classes.
  
• Friends of SWTOR players can play through the Origin World, the Faction Fleet and the Capital World of their characters.
  
• Friends of SWTOR players can participate in Warzones once they have reached level 10, and they can also go through the first Flashpoint available to their characters.
  
• Friends of SWTOR players can progress up to level 15.
  
• They can play on any server.
  
• They can experiment with Crew skills up to a skill level of 40.
  
• They cannot use the Galactic Trade Network.
  
• They will have limited access to in-game mail and chat functionalities.
  
• They will not be able to travel outside of the areas listed above.
