It wasn't working.
That's a great example why meters should be in the game. We also used mox throughout the whole ec hm and it helped us a lot especially in early progression eg. we were pushing f&s hard to avoid 2nd double destruction and thanks to mox we knew who to put on firebrand side.

The logs are already there and so should be in-game meter that has better performance than auxiliary software. The ONLY reason why we cant have it is because Bioware's decimated team has other priorities.

It blows my mind that something such as this was not in the game a launch or atleast patch 1.1 as it is not a new concept. Previous MMO's set a standard and new ones should not be surprised that the game community expects certain aspects such as Damage Meters to be available.

Maybe I have missed a memo since I raid on a Tank/Jug and tend to read tank info more often but I've seen chatter on this back in December and I still don't have a SWTOR damage meter to silence my DPS.

Oh and a good meter tool will tell you who broke the CC.

Come on Georg Zoeller ... help a brother out.
Why are you all bent out of shape and mad at BioWare? You do realize WoW, AoC, Aion, Warhammer, LotR, Tera, Rift, STO, The Secret World, etc. all don't have meters either. They are all 3rd party addons not supported by the company. Sure I agree that in todays mmo it should be an interface feature to turn on and off, but as of now obviously no one feels it is something needed right now. Same reason threat meters aren't made the norm yet. But I won't get mad at a company for not adding this since NO ONE has yet. Or at least none of the top mmo's that I know of.

"Oh and a good meter tool will tell you who broke the CC." Ok now you are getting a little out of hand here.

I agree with you here, but DPS meters are used for more then just that. Some people like to use it for themselves to improve on and see where they are at in the mix. Comparing to others the same class and same gear some want to see where they are at and what may they be doing wrong.

There have been times in WoW where I thought I was tearing it up. Nailing all the cool downs etc. yet looking at the meters I wasn't as high as I thought. So I talked to a fellow mage to see what I was missing or doing wrong and found out there was a couple minor things that made a difference. Had I not had meters, I would never have known. Sure you can say a "good player knows what to do", well yeah but also a good player knows there is also always room for improvement and I am a damn good player and know my classed I play very well. Sometimes you might be off on something though and having meters to let you know doesn't hurt one bit. Just helps.

Also if you are doing a pug 8/16 man Operation and someone is not even close to the others and are just basically being carried, then yeah it let's people know they need to remove them from the group.

So there is more to dps meters then just flexing e-peens. But I do understand people at times use the dps meters in a way not really intended.

LOL, dps are the lazy underachievers of the mmo world. If a tank or healer is bad, people die and the raid notices. If one of your Dps is bad, you have no idea which one it is.

God forbid a game has a way to see which dps needs to improve, i wonder how many government workers play dps?

I do love the folks that believe that every last good raider/pvper/X category left within the first 3 months. I've got news for you. Speaking in absolutes like this makes you look like an idiot. Oh, and every MMO that ever existed had a group of so called hardcore elites that leave within the first few months after downing the early content and getting bored. That doesn't make them some kind of mythical beast. Here's a clue, the early stuff was EASY, it always is. So holding these people up on a pedestal just because they're good at leveling fast and then getting bored is... well, it makes no sense. But you go ahead and follow them around from game to game licking their boots. I'm sure they appreciate it.

They probably did, and realized that they often lead to elitism and general idiocy. I don't blame them for not adding them - they are unnecessary at best and a tool of elitism and stupidity at worst.

And yes, I raided in WoW. My guild was in the top 30 in the world (10 man) for awhile during WOTLK. They are not necessary.

I've never understood why people cry for this, or addons, or macros... DPS Meters is about the only thing out of those 3 I could agree with, but still. Why do people feel the need to watch more **** in a cluster**** on their screen, instead of the battle itself? Granted though I guess you could probably watch TV and just glance at the screen with rotation combat. O.o
