Story was a great way to get people in and to keep people entertained for their first 2 levels to 50. It was never going to be enough to keep people subbed, and I can't even contemplate that someone in a head office somewhere thought it would be.

I would say an annual story update, that is at least one new planet with class quests and expanded companion dialogue would be a reasonable minimal expectation. Providing that other parts of the game are introduced or tweaked throughout the rest of the year.

The reason story has more content (and really it's only during leveling that you see it) is that that's what the game started with. Since then there has been nothing, and story at level 50 is pretty much non-exisitent.
Couldn't you say this for pretty much ANY aspect of the game though? I'm guessing they switched to F2P development quite soon after launch tbh...hence their tremendous lack of any progress in ANY area.

PvP and PvE content doesn't need to end...
I agree. Their Story content can be considered as PvE, but that part of the road for PvE ends somewhere. Sure, at times it can be expanded upon, but like in almost any game it ends somewhere. Is it expanded upon later? Yes, but it takes years for totally new stories to be released.

I believe the devs need to make a video announcing that they will be willing to leave the story-driven aspect of this game, because it does end at the Interlude. After Ilum and doing the dailies the first time around, that's it. They should state that this game was built in mind for including the Story Pillar, but they also need to state that as in many other games, the story ends at one point. In this case, it's at the Interlude, where you're introduced to the dailies and Ilum for the first time. Should they say it will be expanded upon from time to time? Yes. But they also need to tell their fans that they are going to focus more on non-Story-related PvE and PvP content.

This is a huge IP, and I happen to be a big fan of it. In Star Wars, nothing ever ends and if you have something like Story that eventually ends it prevents this game to grow, unlike other PvE and PvP content.

There have been an additional wz, fps, ops. However, I will say that content in general has taken a back seat to some basic functionality (like LFG and server transfers) that should have been in there since day one.

Yeah, I get the advocating part, which is totally fine by me. It's the "stop updating X gameplay features and do mine only" posts that make me want to kick a roleplayer. (No pun intended to roleplayers)

But yeah, I understand the Story aspect could use some end game polishing/updating, and I do hope it gets the attention it deserves like any other. But when I objectively look at all aspects, weigh in the total mass of content available, the PvP aspect has been pee'd on. The rotation of development I guess makes us all rip our hair out, but I just hate seeing ignorant posts like the OP has thrown out in here lol. Hope they get what they need though, as does everyone else.

If that is, indeed, what they're going to do then yes, they need to tell us that so we can cancel our subs and delete our accounts.

Agreed!!! We're all playing the same game, I hope we all get what we'd like from it. With the staff Bioware reportedly had, there's absolutely no excuse for us to be where we are right now.

I honestly believe the massive "jump ship" from BW employees is directly related to EA ruining what BW once saw as a potentially great game. There is a reason why they're leaving, but if history shows anything about EA...well...yeah.

Did you even read the rest of my post?

If this game is going to be stuck on being Story-driven, I have no hope for this SW MMO. Right now I feel like the niche that's clinging onto this game is those that like experiencing all the stories and creating alts. For me, I came to this game for WvW, (O)PvP-type of stuff. I hate alting cause it's extremely tedious, and the side-quests I did the first time around are now all skipped since I level through WZs.

I would be ignorant to say that the Story aspect wasn't successful. The Story aspect of this game was one of the major things that would bring new flavors to the MMO genre, but honestly, it didn't necessarily work out as planned for EAWare.

I'm just still subbed because I want to see Terror From Beyond and Ancient Hypergates and what happens at F2P. I think by then I might have enough of what EAWare has done to this game, unsub and just go create my own SW MMO.

I certainly did read the rest of your post. All this one too.

Perhaps when I said "we" in my response I should have clarified - if they decided to stop continuing story *I* would not only unsub but would completely stop playing, and I suspect many other players who are interested in story would as well. Simply because you are clearly not interested in that aspect of the game doesn't negate my enjoyment of it. I'm not convinced by your argument that ceasing to develop story is somehow necessary to the survival of this game. In fact, I would argue the opposite.
