No, I won't change my mind. Even if it shuts down: I played a game that I could enjoy. If this was just another "click on questgiver, slaughter 10 rats, click on questgiver to turn it in" MMO, I wouldn't care. This at least tries to pretend it's an RPG. Taking away dialogue and dialogue choices would be the end of it, for me.

Of course, I'd welcome the idea of old-school text-based branching dialogue, like Fallout and well, any RPG in the '80s and '90s. But MMO players could not handle that, they basically want a shooter with gear progression. Sad. And dumb.
yes VO is fine , but gameplay and content should be first ,they could just have added some terminal missions

instead they make a game that will be pretty hard to expand on,,even if the sub numbers had been in the green

insisting on VO all the way ,,,way too expensive, specially if u have to debug older content too

If it is just a new, normal sized planet then no one will pay full expansion price for it. If they want to come out with a "mini-expansion" it would have to be at a price lower than what is currently expected to be paid for a full on expansion.

With the new F2P mode of things coming soon it would not surprise me in the least to see smaller and cheaper expansions sold in order to entice the F2P to buy them while giving the sub players something more to do without cheating them with a 60 buck letdown.

Until I see actual, real, definitive developer words on screen however, I'm not going to bash and whine and complain about getting milked. It's like kicking a dog you've just met because you're absolutely certain it's going to bite you...

If they play on "selling" content, to subscribers included, I quit. That's it. That's the line.

What some people call "milking the subscribers" I call "business decisions". Since my 401k has holdings in EA, I hope they do whatever is necessary to turn a profit on this game but I expect them to do it by providing a quality product worth buying. Selling something no one wants isn't the path to prosperity, after all.

No wonder you're so aggressive toward people who don't like the F2P move. LOL

Sorry, but as a subscriber, I'm not paying extra for any "expansion" that doesn't include another chapter of class quests. Even if your retirement fund is smaller for it.

As a SUBCRIBER, I draw the line at spending another dime for anything related to this game unless its an official expansion. As a subscriber, I should have access to everything...including all content patches. If I don't, I WILL unsub, and I boldly say that I won't be the only one.

The thing is.. they don`t care. Their aim is to draw a whole new player base at the expense of the old one. Or, in simpler terms - they don`t care about player retention past F2P point.

Or there is nothing pointing towards it, anyway.

How do you know it will be free for subscribers? You aren't being given cartel coins as a special gift from BW. You are paying for them by paying a sub. You also don't know how many coins they would charge for the content, it could be a lot more than the amount of coins you get each month.

To be honest I don't actually care anymore, I'm switching to F2P once we are given the cartel coins for being subbed since launch. I 've come to the conclusion based on the content we have received since launch this game no longer deserves a sub from me.

If you are F2P then you have to buy coins for content, extra character slots, vanity items, and only get the base game for free. For those of us that paid for the game, and are paying a monthly fee, there should not be additional charges for content updates. Also, in my experience games that do a hybrid of subs and F2P do not really release "expansions" they release content in small doses that subs get as part of their subscription (we aren't paying $15 per month for character slots) and F2Pers purchase. If they use that model it will make sense. If they try to nickel and dime us, I am sure they will reap the whirlwind of cancellations.
In my experience with LotRO, having a larger expansion along with frequent small content updates is a good thing. I also don't mind paying for expansions, as long as I can use my Cartel coins to pay for it instead of actual cash. That's how I bought the last LotRO expansion. Of course, the LotRO expansions are actually pretty big and relatively cheap (nowhere close to 50, usually around 25-30 dollars)
SWTOR needs Russian Unicorns or I won't play!
Remember, reading the available information will make you NOT seem to be asking a silly question.

There is next to no chance of being charged for the new planet just like u didn't pay for the new raids and warzones. The only time u will pay is it's a full blown expansion and that won't happen for another 2 years. Not that I'd mind paying anyway if a few bucks are going to help bring more content and enhance this game overall I'm all for it. I've never had so much fun in my life for such a low price. I spend 300$ per night at the very least when I go clubbing once or twice a week and those 5 hrs I'm there aren't half as fun as 5 hours playing this for the equivalent of a few cents.

I can't wait to see if EA will attempt P2W on this game!
