Except that is NOT what they are saying will happen with a sub.

They are not saying "we will give you enough coins to buy all the content you already have as a subscriber outright".

In fact they are saying quite the opposite, that as a subscriber that goes F2P you WILL lose access to content (and other things) and be "limited" instead.

So as a subscriber you only have access to the content as long as you remain a subscriber, unless you buy it twice effectively.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

Which is complete and utter BS considering we all already PAID for these when we bought the boxed game and in the subs fees we paid when they dropped in the game. For six months of sub fees ($90) we got one Op (EC), one WZ (Denova) and two FPs (Koan and LI). Also, in the boxed game price we got 8 character slots. Now they are going to take some away? Now EA is saying if you don't continue to pay, you will lose them, even though you already paid for them. This is exactly why I am permanently done with the game on 9-17 and permanently done with anything ever by EA. I am done with them as a customer period.

In LOTRO, they at least kept ALL the content you had already paid for. EA, on the other hand, is taking it away.

I won't say the word, but there is a nasty word for what exactly this is.

That is an expansion.

WoW is getting one new area and 5 levels. That is an expansion.

Why would they, that is not what I'm saying. I'm saying if they make you purchase the expansions/quest hubs etc with your cartel points it will effectively be free as a subscriber. If you then go free to play you would keep what you bought and lose whatever you are supposed to in the current game.

In stickied threads they say you will have no access to Op's (although it appears you may get the first one), limited FP's/Wz. That is the content you will lose, not Makeb etc that you bought with cartel coins

What do you want the ability to buy everything with free cartel coins so you can unsub and have the same experience in F2P?

They are giving much more content than that. Oh and one continent in WoW does not one planet make.

In fact the aren't even clear as to whether you'll have "full" or "limited" access to anything you do buy in the cashshop as a F2Per.
Dont you think that as a subscriber, if you drop your sub you should maintain everything? I mean you pay 15 bucks a month for about a year, by the time F2P hits. I think that should be counting as paid for it. If not then would it not seem that F2P be the better model? Even if you count 10 months paid then you paid 150 bucks. If you unsubscribe you lose access to all that stuff. If you were F2P... you probably pay about 40 bucks and always have access to it.

Under the LOTRO model subscribers KEPT all the content they had when they were subscribers once the game went F2P.

SWTOR is saying it will remove content from subscribers that stop subbing.

Which again makes it seem like a gouging have your cake and eat it model (for EA), by trying to hit players for stuff they should already own.
Currently, you don't own anything. You haven't purchased anything. Your access to this game, right now, is nonexistent if you don't have an active subscription. That is how a subscription-based MMO works.

1 planet with 2 days worth of content and 5 levels does not an expansion make. Look at Rifts new expansion. It will triple the size of the base game. It has a ton of features. 4 new classes. Housing, dungeons, raids, new abilty points, collections, upgraded crafting, new achievements. etc etc Thats an expansion. Makeb is a content update.

Wows expansion is also getting alot more then just one new area.

Lotros model is the same F2P model that TOR will be based on. Look at that game that let you keep the content.
