Most people I know aren't going to play a game where all you do is run around slaughtering NPCs. They'd rather have something more immersive while providing a sense of ownership, and connection to their character.
The look for Anime hotness in games. It's the character designs more then anything IMO

It wasn't the grind as much as the random chance at stuff like the Enchantments, Manastones, crafting, etc. The grind wasn't really that bad, but a ton of people got pissed off about the Miragul and Fenris armor and how many times they failed it.

Which is basically what "quests" are... instant XP by pressing a button.
Was that old WoW Warmaster PvP grind hard??

It was probably the longest and worst grind in MMO history

or

Was it just time consumming.

That isn't what I said. We'd rather not be BORED doing the same BORING thing over, and over, and over, and over, and over.

Mob grinding is boring.

Wanting an immersive world is not the same thing as wanting a IWIN leveling button.

Rift has about 250k subs left.

lol, oh I forgot about ffxii. F that game. I made it to level 30 and drop it like a bad habit/

But the WoW one was still pretty bad,

You had to grind more then anyone on your server and if you took a break or some one played more then you you went backwards.

So basically you had to play 14 hours a day for 3 months no breaks.

Which is about 250k more than most MMOs that try to deviate from WoW....
