More Unrealistic Expectations than anything else. But yes, like most gaming companies there was plenty of lies. Do I blame BW, no, but for the most part a "We are that things didn't go as planned. X Y Z happened and prevented us form goign with the original concept we told you" would be nice.

Alot of choices in the game were supposed to open up more content later on, but players didnt like that they would miss out on content because of their choices. For example they even showed a video one time of the Jedi knight sparing the Sith's life on tatooine, and then later in the game you got to see the sith again and here about how his jedi training was going.

That got cut during testing, along with how if you let the captain live you could get quests from him later on. Had nothing to do with EA. Alot of this stuff got cut during testing, by player feedback. So did crafting, and Modding.
Most of that happend from the invisible "internal test team" Real beta testers were told straight out.... you are here to find bugs, we dont need your input.

Well they kinds did. I mean they told us why they took out killing companions. They told us why they made player choices less influential in the overall galactic storyline. They told us why they took out the unify cholors...even tho they put it back in realizing that nobody cares if all their gear looks exactly the same the whole game...even Blizzard realized that when they found out they could go through the whole game wiht only 3 sets of gear per class.

I remember that post too "The Art department feels that because you are throwing away all of the armors and weapons they worked so hard to design, they will only make 3 individual gear sets per class from now on." LMAO. And thus begun the clone wars did.

Whether or not it becomes the best selling game of all time makes no difference to the die hards you speak of.
Doesnt have to be the best game to be healthy. <500k subs is not healthy. Look at it in 2 months when 6 monthers run out and more and more people feel like the "haters" do. Come back to this thread and still claim the game is healthy. Like I said, dont take my word, just watch. Then you be in your solo world and still not carring... until you realize that no more content is comming and fixes dont happen very often. Youll ask why and be ignored like we are now

But hey, dont even bother listening to the rest of the freaking sentence, you guys remind of religius zealots misquoting Darwin for some reason.

That video was actually talking about combat and how they plan to take it to a new level, etc.
Does the combat really feel any different then older button mashers? Dont think about the lightsabres when you answer that.

The moddable gear was really awesome because you could really make a unique look for your character, didnt matter what you looked like UNDER the Armor. However alot of that stuff got changed too in testing, because players didnt like how moddable gear made gear grinding pretty much obsolete.
I wasn't referring to the open beta either, I was referring to closed beta. I was one of the people that liked the modding in earlier builds, and also one of the hundreds of posters who complained after they simplified it in the build prior to open beta. My experience was that generally most people loved the original mod system, so why was it changed? Why were the important choices taken out? It wasn't because of "player feedback". It was because it dawned on them that "Oh crap, we're going to have to develop more new story branches each time someone kills x or y off".

Ah yes, Bioware crap hammer specialists. The immensely narcissistic race of nothing-better-to-do griefers allegedly getting their rocks off by throwing grenades at random passersby. We have dismissed that as thuggery.
Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRC8exLv2lw 1:15 .. he says "That isn`t very heroic".. some years later.. we have multiple heroes beating on a single enemy. He is talking about raids, btw.

So, we have TWO Bioware heroes that will bring the MMO to a new level... speaking of combat of course. I am yet to see that new level...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0nqdbiy3bE - 2009 gameplay... and it didn`t change THAT much until 2011.

No, but Bioware was definitely thinking lightsabers when they said that. Remember the old videos where everytime you closed the distance as a Jedi or sith on a mob using blasters, how theyd switch to vibroblades and duel you...yeah that doesnt happen in the game anymore, cuz its dumb lol.

Oh please, bro. I've been GONE from this game since a little after 1.2. I just got burned out. Things weren't shaping up the way I wanted them to. I left, and didn't pay anything. I didn't whine, I didn't complain, I just left and voted with my wallet. Feel free to use my strategy. I came back literally yesterday. I'm no fanboy, you idiot, I'm just not foaming at the mouth like a spoiled child. There IS a difference. If I was non-sentient, I wouldn't have been able to type out that post you quoted and I wouldn't be able to respond to you now. Maybe you should read a dictionary every once in awhile there, DarthCDiv. My claim is that all this whining about stuff is stupid, and that certainly hasn't been dismissed. Have all these trolling, whining posts attributed to anything besides all of our collective post counts? No. Have actual Q&A's and visits to Bioware attributed to the game? Yes. What does that tell us, kids? Yea..I'll leave y'all to figure it out. I mean, it's a longshot, but anything is possible.
