My grammar is correct. Your "correction" was wrong. "Online subscription revenue" goes with "has," not "had," you are wrong. Don't try to correct people when you don't understand basic rules of English. "Has" implies an ongoing state. Their revenue continues to decrease, hence we use "has," if their revenue had stopped decreasing, then we would use "had."

Additionally, my quote was about REVENUE, which is why I quoted FINANCIAL REPORTS...

...not MMOCHAMP, in fact I specifically argued why talking about subs figures is useless unless coupled with an understanding of the financials behind those subs.

Additionally, since you seem to be keen on correcting people. "In otherwise" is not correct usage, you should have said "In other terms," or simply "Otherwise." Also, "no way," is two separate words, not one. You misspelled "their" as "thier."

Take a look at that graph. See how ever since the free transfers, the red (high) line has crossed the green (light) line on the weekend? See how it doesn't for the most recent weekend?

See how the green line is trending upwards while the red one trends downwards?

Take a look at the December to January period. See anything familiar?
Graph shows server load, which does not necessarily equal to population. If BW increases server cap, the same amount of people that made a server heavy will make it standard instead, showing a downward trend despite of population being constant.

Red line did not cross green line for the most recent weekend, it did cross it quite a bit the weekend before tho. That was the weekend right after the free trial started. Maybe BW, seeing a big influx of free players(and red servers on the 14th), increased server cap between the most recent weekend and the one before to accommodate the freebies and prevent queues.

Just a thought.

Here is what i want to know. Since the game launched 12/20, any 6 month subs would be expired as of 6/20. What if they gave everyone a free month to stretch that out until 7/20, so that when they have the meeting just a week or so later, they can use old data for the call? I mean if they come out and report server pop healthy at 1.1 to 1.2 Million subs, are we going to believe that if the date pasted on their data is 7/19?

1, there was a free month included with the box purchase. The 6 month sub time did not start ticking down until 1/20.
2, BW gave players 30 days of free game time as a celebration of the legacy patch.

that means any 6 month sub bought at launch won't expire till 8/20

~70% of WoW accounts are in Asia and are not subscription accounts. They are pay as you go token accounts. Which allows Blizzard to continue to call them "active" (even if they have not been used for some time).

What really matters is what are NA and EU active subscription accounts. Those are a much smaller number of accounts, which peaked at ~5.5 million back in 2009 and then began a long slow decline (source: MMOdata.net). The slope of the decline is a bit hard to tell though because MMOdata no longer breaks apart WoW-East and WoW-West. The nomadic mirgation of MMO players from game to game and the general sense of burnout for many players in WoW however suggests that most of the decline is in WoW-West (especially given the token2play nature of WoW-East) leading to an estimate of ~ 3 million active WoW-West subs. I'm sure WoW subs fluctuate a lot as people sub/unsub/rinse&repeat, and this give Blizzard wiggle room in how they report

Ahh, I totally discounted the free month, however that actually supports the crazy conspiracy theory, because the free time pushes them from 7/20 to legit numbers as of 7/31.

Note mind you my theory is based on nothing more then I watch to much TV, and play too many video games, but it's an interesting theory nonetheless. *

*You may not agree.

This is what I have figured as well, lots of stories of people that feel burned out and haven't played WoW in ages, then something makes them go back and they get hocked again, making subscription numbers go up and down all the time

Just look at this game, everytime a new trailer or new content patch drops people suddenly resub, then it takes another month and then it's back to something else

All I see in this thread is a bunch of crying over Blizzard's income and nothing about why SwToR is struggling to hold onto 1 million.

Why would they do that tho. To deceive investors? It's not like those can't count to six, they know full well the original 6-month subs still are running. And besides, i think 6-month subs were an exception rather than the rule back when the game launched, so them expiring probably won't influence the total subs all that much(even when we assume that none of them will renew, which probably won't be true either).

6 months subs from the 1st week of Live run out sometime in August due to the extra free time given.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?
