You said you were social, but you really just expect everyone to play your way or leave.
And I didn't say anything about repeating the story. You have no idea how many times other players have played any given flashpoint.

I was largely leveling my main before transfers, so I haven't done about half the flashpoints because there just wasn't anyone to do them with. Now I'm 50 and I'm doing them in hard mode. Every time I start a new one I tell the group up front, "Hey, I've never done this one before, and I'd like to watch the cutscenes. If I need to do anything particular for a fight, just let me know."
Only once have I been asked to leave by a group that just wanted to run through quick for gear, and even then they were nice about it. I'm not looking to force anything on other players, I'm saying you're much more likely to get your way if you're polite and sociable than if you act like its your way or the highway.

Bioware needs an option in the groupfinder for players who (1) want to watch cut scenes or (2) are there just for social points, etc. Then make the best effort (not a requirement) to group players on thos added criteria.

I like the cutscenes. No they don't make the FP's 90 minutes or more.

I am allowed to enjoy the game at its fullest parameters, in group or out, because i choose to see the full cuts, doesnt mean i am taking away at all from someone elses experience, i am simply enjoying the game as it was programmed.

If you ask me to do otherwise, you are simply asking for TROUBLE.

Oh, I usually space bar things ive already read, but even sometimes im a bit slow to hit it, or jsut zoning out during them, but gee oh golly oh gosh, if some dummy decides he is going to even start to complain, not only do i NOT spacebar the rest of the entire run, I actually dont even choose a dialog option.

Yeah, I am that guy.

And I will do it EVERY TIME.

Bottom line. Dont complain, complaining just wastes energy, if you have a problem with it, take it to the developers, I frankly dont give a crap if you cant stand 3 extra minutes of dialog.

It is a VIDEO GAME and by its mere PURPOSE is a time-waster, what is the point if you arent wasting time.

And if it is reall that SERIOUS to you, you seriously need professional help, and probably a social life as well.

For the record I watch every cut scene. This is my first play through and while some may live in FP and are on their 15th playthrough I am not....I pay just as much as you do to play the game and I will get my enjoyment how I want. If you do not want to wait then do not do group stuff with people you do not know. You can join a "no cut scene" guild and have a great time or make some "none cut scene" friends and do all the FP with them. I never run FP with anyone but my friends as it is now...usually it is 3 of us and 1 random.

During the cutscene audio problems (where you'd only hear a portion of npc dialogue and it cut in and out) I ran taral 5/ maelstrom with a group that was getting legitimately annoyed because they couldn't make sense of what the hell was goin on. We were able to piece enough of it together in the chat window from the parts each of us did actually hear, weird how it wasn't consistent like that. So yeah, some people really do care about hearing the cutscenes.

Maybe on the 4th or 5th run through a fp I'd be a little more impatient but I'd never ask someone to skip just to be an ***.

Trust me, I do this with my own fairly static group on a nearly daily basis. If we get randomed into BT, we skip most of the cutscenes, except the cool parts where someone dies or there's an amusing line. If we get anything else, we just watch them while we BS in voice.
Which is what I do most of the time tbh. But I'm trying to look at this objectively and I can assume that MOST people have seen the cutscenes before on at least 1 toon, and I feel it would be rude to waste the exorbitant amount of time the cutscenes take, for my own personal pleasure. People signed up to run the FP with me, not watch the movies.

Monday night I used the GF late at night (one of my few PuG times) - we got assigned Battle of Ilum, which I've only done once before and that was a good 3-4 months ago at least. Not once did I feel I should watch the cutscenes. I wasn't asked to spacebar, I assumed I should. We ALL assumed we should and we all did. It was a great group of players playing late at night and not one of them was selfish enough to make any of us waste more time than was needed. Nobody asked us to spacebar, but it was appreciated.

As I said, I think anyone who WANTS to watch the movies, should be up-front about it. THEY are the ones deviating from the expected 'norm' and they are placing their enjoyment over the other 3 players. I just think it's common sense and common courtesy to SKIP.

That's an annoying problem, but you can switch the chat window over to ... whatever the 2nd tab is, and it has a transcript of all NPC dialog. I've used that several times when I was too slow reading subtitles on alien speech, or something distracted me from the dialog.

LOL!

And here we have a perfect example of the selfish ME ME ME attitude of some people. I'd vote to kick you, or I'd simply leave group. You're not nearly as important as you think you are mate.

Except, the cutscenes are designed to be a part of it, so the default should be that you're watching them.

The movies are part of the flashpoint, and people didn't sign up to run it with YOU, they just signed up to run it. If they want to watch the cutscenes, there's nothing wrong with that, but I agree with you that they should be up front about it. People who want to skip should be upfront about that too. Before you actually START running the flashpoint, everyone should come to an agreement about the cutscenes, rolling on loot, and who's doing what in combat and how.
It saves lots of time later when you aren't dealing with people screaming skip, rolling need on everything, or jumping the gun and getting people killed.
People who just expect strangers off the LFG tool to behave a certain way are the ones who end up disappointed most frequently.
