Why do people hate this game?

WoW players came to this game hoping for a replacement, probably because they are sick of WoWs terrible graphics and lore. Unfortunately the game isn't as good overall and that is the main reason they dislike it. The reality is that people do want this game to be like WoW but better,(which is nigh impossible) except for the SWG fans who are upset that the game isn't SWG 2.0.

The rest of the haters are just disgruntled forum goers, mad at BioWare because of dragon age 2 and something to do with hamburgers. So nothing unusual.

I feel a bit guily about this. I love the game but, in truth, I only visit the forums when I'm really unsatisfied with something. For example: I went out of my way to complain about the PVP-changes they made with 1.2 (which started out with a really bad medal-system) and also with 1.3 and the long queues right after the introduction of the character-transfers (something they should have had since launch imo).

A lot of my friends left SWTOR but for all the wrong reasons. They have tried to get me back to WoW, or to start with GW2 (with beta) or SecW. I've tried them all and I know now that SWTOR will probably be the best MMO game for years to come.

I'm finding interesting that "our" SWTOR haters still writing in here which means they still have active account ... so, maybe they are only lonely and sad and want some attention from us.

Possibly because it didn't live up to the hype. That and because it doesn't have as many features as swg did, by a long way, and I'm guessing alot of the players came from swg.

The biggest haters are people like you. They're still here because they enjoy the game and want it to do well. If your kid was doing coke would you just going on telling him how much you love him or would you tell him what's up and that he has a serious problem?

Or maybe they had faith in the game, and bought long subscriptions, but then realised they didn't like the game, unsubbed, and are now just waiting for their sub to end.

I wouldn't say alot of players but definitely the most vocal ones.

Anyway no game ever lives up to the hype, ever.

Ill tell you exactly why i hate this game and why i am unsubbing

1 the game ran smoother in beta than it does now, to much glitching to much lag and its the game engine not my computers hence it doesnt live up to its minimum computer requirement.

2. Hit box was made larger hence being forced to " grind" more mobs. Bioware during beta and at release promised no grinding which i find myself doing to much of at lvl 50 doing dailies( bonus mission as supposed to be optional but when forced to do them anyway thats grinding ), what should take an hr takes me 3-4 hrs depending on class of toon. and they want to promote having a legacy so we roll more toons, lol, not when i have to spend my time "grinding" dailies. a lvl 50 shouldn't have to grind countless hrs a day.

3. Pvp is dictating how the toons function in pve. MMO's keep tweeking the toons stats instead of the pvp gears stats to compensate for peeps qqing someone is OP.

4. they need to do something with certain tank specs while pve solo i find myself dieing more with my jugger than my dps shadow.

5 the free character transfer has caused more lag on my server ( The Ebon Hawk) i freeze more and lag more since it has way more people on it. again this affects my game play.

6 each patch creates more bugs, most bugs that make my game hard to play are not getting fixed ( lag issues not latency ) seems they are more concerned with the content and pvp than fixing certain bugs. i do pvp but i do enjoy pve and as such i expect for what i pay to play with an environment that isnt so buggy , laggy mission not being able to complete because of new patch and such ad infinitum el vomitose.

i only have kept playing because i love the star wars genre and milking it with the game engine they have isnt cutting it. i shouldnt have to spend 4k on a gaming computer just to play at what i consider acceptable bugs and ui lag when on other games i can play on a lower end computer.

This game is a carbon copy of World of Warcraft and this is the number # 1 reason people dont like it. .

Actually it isn't being an avid WoW player since before TBC expansion I find it digusting how right now blizzard is treating its customer base by still taking money and not putting anything interesting in the game. Looking at MoP I can see the tired exhausted PvP players playing the same game types on different maps with a fortieth class overhaul (Yes I am exaggerating), this was the breaking point for me where I was forced to see the pattern of class overhauls and PvE content for XX days as an expansion.

Where with SWOTR I found the content completely different with its interaction with NPC's and cutscenes. I think thats what scares WoW fans the most. This has the potential to do terrific and other MMO are coming out with the same tier of graphics this game has with better mechanics and people wanting to provide the services to you. Not another announcement of reskined mount they have pay an extra 5 dollars on top of the 15 they provide for each month.

I don't want to see WoW die, but blizzard does need to wake up and actually do some work to make their current subscribers feel appreciated. Cause if that goes F2play you know its the end of something terrific.
