He talks specifically about the layoffs, what his team does on a daily basis, the guild summit and future events like that, the rackghoul plague world event and plans for more events like that in the future, and the community team's plans to make themselves more accessible to the players as well as the current avenues of communication they employ.

There's my concrete evidence. Just because you don't know about all this information doesn't mean it didn't happen.
ok listening to the podcast and first thing i want to point out is how they say they watch the test servers to see whats going on yet each round on the PTS almost every bug reported got through.

second thing is NM Denova, they are changing mechanics and adding new gear to it, so the new OP we actually know we are getting is really the same OP with new mechanics which imo is because they dont want to spend anymore than they have to on "new content" which isnt really new.

then they go on to discuss how you should start proggresing when you get to 50, instead of one of the many much bigger topics being discussed on thier offical forums. finaly they talk about a future OP and attempt to hype it up, glad they mentioned something but im sad they didnt learn from the mistakes they made with hyping things up lol.

and thier next topic is thier favorite boss fights, wow man this really is breaking news im glad you turned me on to this podcast. and again they go on to say to play on PTS so they can fix the bugs yet almost every bug makes it to the live servers. and the other guy talks about legacy perks which is nothing we didnt already know. granted they did mention a future OP but we have no real details about it, the rest of that 25 minutes was a waste of time.

topics like players being frustrated with all the credit sinks esp customizing your gear being one of them, companion customization still no color match or head slot toggle, the toggle could have been in since launch but was over looked and is something ppl have wanted since beta, and how much out side the box do they need to be thinking to anticipate players wanting the color match feature for companions, i can picture DE facepalming saying "why didnt we think of that?"

CE holders being upset about the promise of "regular updates" to the CE Store that they have not recieved. the world pvp re-vamp that hasnt been talked about since they took out world pvp which has been a major topic on these boards. and im sure there are other big topics that never get dev attention.

and lastly i want to point out in my other posts i was talking about the community team not communicating with the community on the offical forums, i never said anything about a dev not doing a podcast and one of the jobs of the community team is to relay things from the offical forums to the devs, then relay the info back to us on the offical forums.

You can't say the developers don't communicate with the players when they have already held a guild summit in which over 300 players got the opportunity to sit down face to face with the developers and speak to them. The developers are constantly releasing news on twitter and facebook. They even have an official podcast in which they detail upcoming plans for the game and a myriad of other topics that concern the players.

As far as content is concerned, in 7 months we've seen a dynamic event, a new warzone, a new operation, a new flashpoint, and a new questing area for dailies on Corellia. We've also seen plans for a new quest line (HK-51) a new space mission, a new planet and a new species.

Seriously, I don't understand the internet's impatience with gaming. Sometimes I think the only way to satisfy the internet when it comes to MMOs is to release 50 years worth of content on day one and then another 50 on day 2 because by then all your "hardcore" gamers will have burned through half that day 1 content already.

Why oh why do people waste their time speculating on the future of a 7 month old game.

Play it, enjoy it, or ****.

Job losses, lack of Q&A (which there isn't), lack of content (which there hasn't been), just stop asking yourself and play what's already out.

Are you apart of EA or Bioware? No, so why ask these questions if your only going to provide an answer that suites you the most.

Well given a lot of the head staff has "left" they are probably appointing new staff and implementing a new strategy. TOR isn't dead yet, it just needs some help, and the first good move was to get rid of the people who seem to be holding it down. Old hands that were great during the development period, but lack the current day knowledge to successfully guide TOR along present day development paths.

The community manager needs to be someone who knows what they are doing and has proven to get good results. Take a look at how CCP works. Those guys have been going strong for years and faced some serious hardships, only to battle back. Its well worth talking to them.

Its great doing the Q&A, but the problem is the people's questions who are being answered are not the questions the community wants answers to. Furthermore, the lack of any action behind the concerns addressed in the Q&A leaves a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouths.

*edit* also GW2 is F2P, if it was sub i could understand ppl saying it would steal swtors subs but with it being F2P, i think ppl will simply have both, i wouldn't play and pay for 2 sub based games but i would for one GW2 doesn't change that
The reasons why I think GW2 BETA is what we'll see in live game is my exprecience with GW1 beta that was no different from GW live at launch.

Of course there are things that are being tested (that is the reason of a beta, find bugs) and won't work exactly the same way in live, like world event timers that in beta are pretty short and devs already said that they will be way longer in live. But put things that there were not in beta or introduce new things by surprise that could change the game to the point it would be different from beta version, as happened with SWTOR, is not going to happen. Who is playing GW2 beta already knows what is going to find in GW2 live.

The problem with GW2 f2p is not that is f2p, what must concern EA/BW is if GW2 is more fun than SWTOR at this point and if it is more fun a SWTOR subscriber has no reasons to keep paying a sub when he can play a more fun game for free.

i wouldnt go that far man...all of us pay to play this game....and we can understand the issues and what should be done immediatly to solve them quite easy

but to assume that everyone on the forums has more skill in business administration and economics than people who are trained for such things,is usually a big mistake in my experience

trust me,if you yourself could actually get behind the scenes...and see whats really causing the problem, youd be reacting just like palmer on john carpenter`s the thing when he saw the spider head for the first time

Not trying to flame or troll, just trying to understand the difference.
The way Rift did server transfers was far superior. You clean out your bank and mailbox and auction house. Goto character screen and click transfer. Select the server you want to goto. Log that character in and play. If you find you dont like that server then you can change it again after 7 days. You can do this for as long as the game is up. If you have a guild and are the guild leader... when you transfer... anytime a guild members log on, they get a popup box stating where your guild went to. This way all your guildies know that the guild moved and where it moved to, reguardless of when they log in next.

Oh and sorry but you are wrong about rift updates. Go read them.... every update that was labeled 1.1, 1.2 ,1.3 etc. had content. I believe they had an event for each one as well that lasted weeks on end.

Good post......I think though you are speaking to those who no matter how much you give them facts they will still find flaws in the post. Either way good luck trying to get this group to understand you.

There was a preview of the game with Daniel Erikson playing a while before release to show off the game and talk about features etc. He was questing in Tatooine and mentioned something along the lines of "people didn't think we'd have a head slot toggle... of course we have a head slot toggle!"

He made out that it was so obvious, but it seems the people were right to nag about it if they exclude your companion having the feature which is an extension of your character.

Plus it was requested many times through beta.
