What other game out there is releasing content faster than SWTOR right now?
Hmm... Ruby Sanctum and the pre-cataclysm city events must have slipped your mind.

However, I have been through reorgs and layoffs in an industry closely connected to gaming. As one who remained to pick up the pieces, I can tell you it is a trying time. However, you get through it and find your stride again. It's not like BW is going away anytime soon. Besides, EA really needs to revenue generated by SWTOR.
Yeah they need the revenue because, to put it blunt, ToR is a leech in their revenue pool. The game cost too much to not generate revenue. Alot of EA titles generate alot of money for EA. This game is nothing to EA in the grand scheme of things. Thats obvious by EA interviews. They dont give too ***** about ToR.

That stopped though and it never came to be. So I figure they dont feel it was worth their time and other things were more important.

Thats one thing I do not understand about this company. They touted that they have this huge staff and huge teams dedicated to each aspect of the game. If that is the case then why is everything so poorly done and so slow. I mean, dont take that literally, not everything is poorly done. Its just that the quality of patches is terrible. The game launched very basic and features are very slow comming out. If they have these teams they said they have then features and content should come at the same time and it doesnt... not even close. On top of that, for every bug they fix, they introduce 3 more. Lag, stability, downtime, updates is at its worst lately. Its just getting really sad.

Whats sadder is they dont even care enough to write a simple producers letter. Every MMO, I have been a part of does this on a regular basis. They dont talk to us, interact with us, nothing... that stems all the way back to beta. "We hear you" and "soon" is about all we every get. If they want us to have faith and continue to pay, they sure dont show it.
Yea I like playing this game, don't get me wrong. But when it comes down to the small things, this company really slacked off. Sitting in chairs, talking in chat bubbles, etc. All of the little things add up when it comes down to a players experience in the world overall. Also, way way wayyy too many loading screens. It's seriously a gauntlet of loading screens to get from one place to another.

I really hope they prove most of us wrong and pull through, but I just don't see it happening anymore.

I kind of agree with the 'complete silence means crappy news is coming' theory.
I'll never get hyped for a game again lmao that's for sure, I thought this was the second coming, and they gave us some buggy grindy game, I played it, stood and still stand by it, but now it feels like the devs aren't even standing by it.

have you ever read the forums? there are posts that get to hundereds to thousands of pages and sometimes go without a single dev responce, and most of the time the community team says something along the lines of "thanks for bringing this to our attention" and then nothing gets done about it, if you would like an example this the last round on the PTS forums is a great one.

and where is this "concrete evidence" you speak of, you have not provided links to anything proving any of your claims? as for what the community team is doing nobody knows, its there job to... wait for it... Communicate to the player base about what is going on with the state of the game, not about the state of thier so called community team.

edit: and no i dont give a flying womprats *** about the state of the community team, i want them to do thier damn jobs and give us the info we need/want about the state of the GAME.
Go listen to the Official SWTOR Podcast: Episode II. They conduct the interview with two members of the community/development team and they talk specifically about new difficulty levels in current operations and their plans moving forward concerning endgame content. Go listen to the Jedi Council Podcast: Episode 4. They conduct an interview with Joveth Gonzalez who took over the position previously held by Stephen Reid who was the head of the community team. He talks specifically about the layoffs, what his team does on a daily basis, the guild summit and future events like that, the rackghoul plague world event and plans for more events like that in the future, and the community team's plans to make themselves more accessible to the players as well as the current avenues of communication they employ.

There's my concrete evidence. Just because you don't know about all this information doesn't mean it didn't happen.

This is one of the small things that says a lot IMO.

For example, in Warhammer Online they never got a sit animation to work, even after 3 attempts. I think that probably showed the problems behind the scenes there, from a fairly early stage.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

It's been real but the game just wasn't worth the sub for me anymore.

Rift is up to content release 1.9, and they actually release new content, not things that should have been in the game when it first went live. SWTOR is a good game, the company running it just needs to show that they care about their community. For me the server transfer (I mean merger) issue was the last straw. If you are enjoying this game that's great but when you misrepresent facts everyone should know where to find accurate and real facts on subjects you apparently know nothing about. Oh and a little FYI, when river of soul came out Trion realized what a huge fiasco it was and you know what, they didn't make excuses, they apologized, they promised to learn from the experience and for the most part they have. Game companies like people make mistakes, the key is to learn from them and try and do better.
I'll give you the fact that Rift is up to UPDATE 1.9, but all of those updates haven't been content based. A lot of them have been quality of life fixes or adjustments. And I don't understand how the server transfer (I mean merger) was the last straw for you concerning this game, but you were okay when Rift did it. Not trying to flame or troll, just trying to understand the difference.

This. People like that go to the newest game, complaining to the second newest how it sucks compared to the newest. And when a new big game comes out they do the same thing.
Pretty much, GW2 coming out will hopefully rid SWTOR of such people (course I'll be playing both and will have to deal with it in GW2, but less of a pain.)

That really does get me. Do these people not remember? Do they not know what they're doing? Are they different people each time that just don't see the past because they refuse to acknowledge it?

I play MMOs this way: I try it, and if I don't like it, I don't play it. SWTOR was the first one in a while that got me hooked. Keep in mind I never played KOTOR or SWG so I didn't get to taste the best of the Starwars universe and thus have nothing to compare it to. It created a situation for me where I could log into SWTOR and enjoy it thoroughly. I've hooked a few others onto the game now, too.

I don't really see how an MMO is so important to some people to hang around ************ about it. Just play something else until the thing you don't like is either fixed or becomes inconsequential.
