Drop in framerate

yeah my wife was having the same problem earlier..

Rumors abound you know... some people screaming on fleet that there is a new hack that rebels are using because it only happens when certain players get close to you, the rest of the warzone your fine even with heavy fighting going on.. which i kind of think may be correct..

Yesterday i ran a ton of pvp on my pre 50 BH tank.. there was one op that would come in (i wont say the name here, but i did report him) who, when i would get close to i would lag down to 3-4 FPS.. almost stopping sometimes. When he wasnt on screen, fighting was far better at 20-24 FPS (which is still far lower than i had in patch 1.2) I would also see him dead at almost 0 HP and then all the sudden he would jump across the screen (no clue how) and would be full HP again. I know people scream hack, but i dont know if it was a hack or just lag with his toon...

was definitely something people need to watch for in pvp though.

I know some of the lag came from them wiping peoples changes from the INI with the graphics options reset (if you hit the button) but there was also objects added to warzones as well (like the fence in voidstar below the defenders drop in the first room) that kill the FPS for me.

I dont know is its the actual addition of the items in warzones, or the fact that maybe they didnt re-optimize them after the addtion like they did back in 1.2 .. but yes.. FPS is far worse for many now than during 1.2

yeah... they dont realize that for every person posting here, there are thousands that dont even know these forums exist.. the just leave and unsub... hense the dead servers to begin with... But.. i do hope they take note of these problems and at least try to fix them before the next update.

It would seem like something that they would care about fixing, but given the copy/pasted responses that everyone is getting for FPS problems, it doesn't appear they share that view.

I was having all the issues that you guys are describing here. Constant Low FPS except when i was on my ship, PVP was totally unplayable at all, Fleet was ridiculous when there were alot of people around. I built a new PC and all the problems went away. Most of you are posting dxdiags with GTX570's, GTX460's and you are having FPS probs...I'm running a 9800GTX+ 512MB card and i'm getting 100+ FPS now...I don't understand that. Given the rest of my system is outlandishly strong...but still your GPU should have a huge impact on the FPS. I just pray that tomorrow when my GTX670 comes I won't see less performance. lol. One thing I've noticed helped alot of other people on posts I've seen is to make sure the program file is running in compatibility for win xp SP3. i imagine all of you have tried that already just thought I'de mention it. Thats only going to work for Win7 users tho. If you are using Win Vista you won't have that option. Apparently SWTOR doesn't utilize the system memory that windows sets aside for Video processing unless you run it that way. Another thing I would suggest is not just updating your video drivers, try some of the older versions aswell. And as usual, uninstall all Nvidia drivers before installing the new/old version. I'm running an old driver because i get the best performance out of it.

Still getting 10-20 fps in wz's and 20ish on the fleet. I sent in all the info you requested 2 days ago and still have not heard anything back.

Who knows maybe I'll get some sort of response if I call.. posting here is a waste of time.
