I have even Reinstalled Windows TWICE !! and game !! to make double sure that everythings go perfect, but sadly enough that didnt change a thing ...

When i start the game i get around 50-60 fps no matter what my settings are even with shadows on high, but after some minutes it drops to 10-12 fps and it hangs there from there on.

This is really getting frustating because i see no actions are been taking to come up with a soulution or even so a new patch to fix this problem for us.

I see now i am not the only one having these kinds of problems, and it's not my computer.

I have tried everything and it would be nice to see if you people come up with a patch or a soultion to this problem, because if this continues for long i am afraid i am gonna have to cancel my subscription, cause this problems and worry is not worth the money and time !!
We pay you people so you make our gaming experince good. And this sadly enough sucks.

Thank you very much
At least you've only been playing for a few weeks. I've been playing since early release and unable to play anymore. I sent all the info they requested but haven't heard anything yet. It's been days this has been going on. 2 days dealing with CS and the other days I was trying to fix it myself. Hope I don't get a warning for replying to your message.. have got 4 now for just talking to people with the same issue... crazy.

I noticed a slight improvement going from windowed to full screen mode (not windowed full screen but "real" full screen). Not really a viable long-term solution for me since Alt+Tab causes problems in full screen.

All in all the new restrictions on graphics setting, the forced resolution resp. inability to change resolution in windowed mode are pretty annoying.

That was also helping (very slightly) until the recent patch.. now nothing helps. If that worked you could try going to advanced settings and changing windows to best performance options. http://tech2.in.com/video/dual-sim/1...tor-run-faster

I've had fps issues since the game launched, around 13-19 usually. My system should be perfectly capable of running a game like SWTOR, and has run games that are much more intensive perfectly well.

I've also had my DxDiag sent in and they just told me that my driver wasn't updated, which it was (wouldn't make a difference anyway, because I've always had the issues with this game.)

Did someone say there was a memory leak? Isn't that easily fixable for the devs? :\

Obviously it isn't easily fixable because it's been plaguing the game since before it was even released.

Your problem simply sounds like an issue with your computer though, as it has remained constant ever since you first installed the game. Most of the people here have had acceptable performance in the past, I myself have been playing since the second day of EGA (Dec 14th) without ever experiencing the level of difficulties that I have over the last week in playing this game.

In all honesty it seems to be a problem that isn't affecting an extremely large number of players, and because of that, I doubt at all if we will ever see a fix devoted to correcting this specific problem. With the kind of priority bugs and issues that haven't been solved since the game released I don't see them caring enough about 40 people posting in the CS forums to devote the man hours to fixing our problem. Even though it seems clear they aren't on the user's end at this point.

I've heard Nvidia doesn't run well with SWTOR. My other computer specs are fine, (besides ram at 6 gb)

Personally I'm running an AMD card so I don't think the card necessarily has a direct link.

I've been having lower fps for a couple months now and can't play like it is anymore. I only play for the pvp and if I can't react fast it's a nightmare. I thought it might be something with my computer and might be able to fix but I'm certain that's not the case anymore. Doesn't matter if I reload the game or not I''ll still be around 20 fps all the time if not lower.
I think the actual way that the are screwing up is the fact that there are so many cpus on the market now and when they optimize the game for say an i5 cpu, it kills any optimization for i7 and especially older pcs like amd live 64 quad core. You cant really optimize software to run on any specific core or multicore system well because of the diversity of the pc market atm.

The reason there are so many cpus now, dual core, quad core, tri core etc, is because without adding liquid cooling to all PCs, which some consumers really don't trust and probably wouldn't know how to handle properly, they have been trying to stuff the most transistors on limited space so that the CPUs can remain air cooled by default.

The game engine that this is based on is also over 4 years old, made for direct x 9c and wasnt meant to run on multicore cpus but rather a single core pentium 4 system, when it was first written. The fact that they bought a year old version of the engine to mod when they first started programming, didnt help matters either.

Bioware cut corners with this game and right now its in a state that i dont think they can actually fix. While given the fact that in a few years even with the bad code, any pc will be able to just power through it, right now the game is dying because people are having too many issues with the engine and the fact that the specs they listed are no where close to what you need to actually run the game well.

Min specs today dont mean what they did twenty years ago. Back then min spec as what was required to actually even get the game to load, and back then there wasnt a huge difference in what cpus could do, so if you could get it to load, you could play it usually.. Now days, min specs mean (for most games anyway) what is needed to run the game at 60 fps with no lag. These are what they should have posted if they dont intend on making the game playable smoothly on anything less than a I7 PC with 16g of ram etc..

Basciially.. if your PC is older than the game, you will have problems.. hence the dead servers, the thousands of posts about bad framerates etc.

They basically have 2 options.

1. Fix the problems and reduce the memory and system specs required to run the game by optimizing the code and making it run on older systems (if they want to keep people playing)

2. keep going they way they are until the game is dead and goes free to play.

Even with the server merges, i have been seeing a large drop in server populations around prime time and with PVP back to a 10 FPS lag fest for a ton of people, there is basically nothing to do in the game until they fix it..

I hope they do fix it .. and soon, because this game does have a ton of potential and could blow wow out of the water.. but they are just letting it limp around at the moment, which i fully dont understand.

Well, i've had perfect FPS for a while now, been doing PvE alot and it's been fine, but today I decided to play a spot of PvP on one of my alt's and everytime a couple of people get near me my screen becomes a juttering wreck, my FPS drops so low and it's impossible for me to do anything, maybe a few weeks ago I had perfect fps everywhere I went and never had any problems but only just noticed how bad it is in PvP today.

to the post above also... Yes i heard they are optimizing the game for Intel CPUS and ATI Radion cards. so yeah, your right.. many many posts about the game not running well with Nvidia GPUS and AMD CPUS would support that assumption.

I am running a AMD CPU with Nvidia GPU so its a double whammy.. i had to make a ton of changes to the ini just to get it to a stable frame rate and my machine, although its medium on todays market, should power through this since its 25 CPU released above the min specs they posted.
