And yeah..allmost all the time when I step out of my house I see some type of wildlife. Sometimes they are just sitting there..doing nothing. Yes it is my perception the world in WoW feels a lot more alive than TOR's does and I am not alone in that perception ether. And the addition of the little things in the game world means a lot to many players.
this is a joke right? You know they follow the same script every time.

I believe swtor is missing this crucial element and that is why I am considering ending my subscription.

If you look at WOW or lotro or other mmo's that have been around awhile they have this "fluff" and roleplaying elements within the world. I remember spending countless hours just screwing around in goldshire but swtor doesnt really seem to have any place like that. The fleet sorta works but besides trolling in general chat all the fleet is really good for is using the gtn and staging flashpoints or pvp. So far Bioware has not been able to suck me into their world as well LOTRO or WOW or SWG has.

Its worth noting that I think swtor does a lot of things right, the story is awesome, the combat is good and many other things are great about it. However, it is missing some crucial elements needed to retain players.

What you guys think?
It would take way more than a brand new game lacking almost a decade's worth of fluff to make me reconsider my subscription. While SWTOR does lack much of the fluff that its stone-age predecessors possess, it happens to be a damn good MMO. But hey, if non-fluff is a deal breaker for you, then it's a deal breaker for you.
Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

You're missing his point. Compared to LOTRO, this game doesn't even qualify for fluff-light. It's almost completely fluff-less, and it's definitely all grind all the time. He's trying to point out that the game would prosper if a little more non-grind based content was added. Or at least, that's what I think he's saying.
Edited because the devs appear to have fixed at least 80% of the crap that was pissing me off.

Despite the lovely scenario (yes, i do love SW), SWTOR is a bad copy of World of Warcraft, and still looks like an incomplete game after 6 months.

Maybe some risks should had been taken when developing this game ...i mean, trying to go into a new direction, instead of just staying with the old and rusty MMO kind of gameplay.

No risks, no reward.

6 months later and only now we get transfers and LFG tool (still lame and needs polishing), thats simply not acceptable when u try to make your customer pay $15 per month to play a game that should be at least as complete as any MMO out there that uses the old Everquest/WoW MMO formula.

The leveling on this game is awesome (side quests, main storyline), the sound, the music and the voice acting is excelent, but the rest is nothing new in the MMO world....its just a copy of things that have already been seen in other games, and this doesnt help SWTOR in becoming an atractive new game.

When u hit 50, your fun with the game takes a turn down instead of getting better: the pvp seems less balanced and the pve gets boring fast....u have to repeat the same 3 ops and flashpoints over and over and over and over again with your friends/pugs just to farm gear.

If anyone is having fun doing this, congratulations, but i have to confess im not....not anymore.

I have enjoyed this game for 6 months, mostly i think because i have been making alts to know the storyline behind each class.

If i knew the game was gonna be like this, just a copy of other MMO´s mechanics, i would have stayed with the KOTOR 3 idea.

I wish good luck to the ppl at Bioware, i really hope u guys mature this game into an excelent MMO, my best wishes and thank you.

For anyone who is still having fun with the game, enjoy!

Thats whats most important about a game: having fun.

So dont mind me, this is just my opinion and the reasons why i will not be staying in the game once my sub runs out.

I see u guys around.

And since balance is one of your complaints, how would you balance those "epic" purples?

Oh right, you'd be here posting the game is garbage cos that 1 guy beat you with an epic sword you cant get.

And for the record, full recruit gear has you at what, 900exp. That's more than 2/3 of fully WH decked. Skill does indeed come into play, moreso than in the 10-49 bracket. I find that people most upset about lack of balance in the 50s bracket compared to the low lvl pvp are just upset they're no longer 49s with 20+ skills roflpwning lvl 10-20s with less than half that number. I mean how is THAT ballanced, prey tell? It just tricks people into thinking they're decent and then they get upset when they get handed their tooshes on the leveled playing field by people who really know their class and all its tools. Que blaming gear disparity cos we all know beast in low lvl pvp = beast period.

To be fair WOW was the same in vanilla, when you hit 60 you only got 2 choices, go to a 40 men raid or PVP 24/7.

I disagree. It is the abundance of 'fluff' minigames in a lot of MMOs (and other games for that matter) that drive me crazy and has always turned me away from MMO playing. It's why I like SW:TOR, that and the large amount of story you play through. Anyway, it's essentially online KOTOR, and the only minigames in that was swoop biking and a few space battles. Ooh- and pazaak.

...Actually I wouldn't mind a pazaak minigame!

Also, for an 'unsuccessful' game, it's got a crapload of players and is making a crapload of money. Just sayin'. *shrug*

Well to be fair, SWTOR should have learned from many other MMORPGs, that adding this stuff to the game is important.

This is 2012, not 2004... the demand for everything to be in a game is a lot higher than it was back in 2004.

People don't want to wait for this stuff, and then pay for it years later in an expansion...when they've already gone through the exact same situation with other games. Some people feel they have already paid for these types of features among the MMORPG category when they paid for it over 5 years ago in WoW. People expect new games like SWTOR to have the all of the stuff that other MMORPGs have in it, but bringing it to another level since it is a newer game, and it has better technology to be more creative with it. They don't want to have to wait for it to be added to the game, when they could just go pay $15 for a different game that already has had it for many years.

Might seem like it has a crap load of players as all the players were filtered onto a small select amount of servers. There are still less than 10 servers that reach the high population. While you have games like WoW, which hasn't had new content in almost a year, has over 10 servers that are usually marked as full, and then usually around 20 something servers marked as high, MANY servers marked as medium, and then however many marked as Low.

I would never go as far as saying this game has a crap load of players YET. Never know if it will have lots in the future, but it sure doesn't right now. Although, Bioware is really pulling off a good illusion by having a hand full of servers packed.
