Pretty much. My girlfriend did the same thing---her toon's name was taken on the origin server, so rather than find a new name, she quit SWTOR. She was very attached to that name.

I get it. Two of my three 50s lost their cool names in the merger. It frickin' sucks.

This is why I hate that so many MMOs don't use First and Last names when you create a new character. Thats one of the few things Eve did right.

NEWSFLASH: If your character has a name taken on every destination server and you have to be one of the first to create to get that name, then your character is not unique or individual in any way. So realize that there are tons of characters out there just like yours and move on.

Just use one special character; copy a recognizable A character, Ctrl V paste it into the naming box after the first S, finish the name, and voila, you have your name with hardly any differences.
Don't judge a book by its cover.

Everyone complaining about not being able to keep their name in a server transfer needs to get over it.

I, as everyone else did, rushed to a server at launch to create my main, Ziva. When transfers came, my main was already taken on the destination server. Was I upset? Sure. Did I throw a hissy fit? No, of course not. I'm not 5 years old. I simply changed my name to Ziv'a.

If your character name is Shayde, you have many options:

S'hayde
Sh'ayde
Sha'yde
Shay'de
Shayd'e

And there are many other things you can do as well. Get over it, transfer servers, and change your character name.

Oh, another thing too, grow up.

...no offense but this was easy to foresee. The number of your region/type servers has btw. always been far below the count of 100...

Some names matter, I had a Jedi (only level 14 so it's not too bad) where the name was taken on my destination server and after drinking a little too much this Jedi ended up rejoicing in the name of Prolapse.

Haven't played it since.

Count yourself lucky that you get another rename, think a little and enjoy a bit of creativity but above all REMAIN SOBER whilst doing so.
