In that case good luck to you...

However i will say this, be careful of what hobby or mmo you take up in the future. I would hate for you to take up car restoration or model airplane building only to scrap something because your project car didnt have the right shift knob after you spend $20,000 on it or your model airplane got scrapped because you find out the paint said olive green and not olive drab.
I'm not really a noob...

To excel at anything, you need to have passion for it. Hobbies, jobs, whatever. The more passion we have for it, the more we will enjoy it. Sure we need to keep things in proper perspective as far as the more important things in life. Such as a income, health, family, etc. Only he can answer if he is however. But when we do a hobby, you will do your best at it when you have a lot of passion for it. A part of his passion for TOR happens to be also tied to his char's names.

This sounds similar to a certain thread in my sig. Anyways, how about adding an ' midway like Sho'ck?

I used some names I had from Starsider. When I transferred one of those names was already taken. So be it. I made up another one.

The names had a bit of nostalgia for me, but the name of my toon isn't what makes it important or unique. I, myself, bring all the uniqueness my characters need.

New server, new people, new name. No big deal. I believe it is called making a mountain out of a molehill. Instead of resting on past "success", start anew. If you were "well known" for the old name, you'll become well know with the new one.

Quitting because of something so petty isn't going to win much sympathy...especially in a game. This isn't real life here and I'm pretty sure no one really cares what someones name is. The person behind the keyboard is the most important aspect of any character.
"50 Grades of Shae", a heart-warming novel about a Mandalorian that delivers beat-downs and assigns grades to her victims.

I didn't have to change one single character name, nor my legacy name. There's something to be said for using original names.

Well some one that thinks like me, I am another one who will resist moving my toons to a high- population server.

First they asked, now they bribe, what next they put you where they want you. Are they going to reward the good little children who did as they were told. I don’t think so.

At 60 years young I am too old to grow up.

Well I did transferred one of my toons when it first came out, I lost my name, my Legacy, and my guild name. The first weekend I tried to play it I had to wait to get into the server (wait to log in), nope I aint going there no more.

No I think I will stay on my Chosen server (SHII-CHO), there with my friends and our Guild we can be the Few, the stubborn , We will stay where we chose.

Donot blame you at all. However, sad to say eventually you will be forced to move. They cannot keep 100+ servers up and running for a handful of players.

...i really understand that its very important for many players to get and keep their character names. On the other hand, as hard as it sounds, in my eyes you really should have reserved your character names on every single possible server of your region/servertype if a name change is gamebreaking for you....
