In a new Hope why didn't obi wan remember who R2D2 and C3PO were. R2D2 looked as though he didn't remember obi wan either since he was hiding behind a rock even when kenobi took his hood off.(unless he was just being wary)
I can understand why C3PO didn't remember him since he had his memory wiped in ROTS.

because Lucas is a bad writer.

Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru also didn't reckonize C-3PO or R2-D2 and remember Uncle Owen put the metal on C-3PO and had him under his care for a number of years before Anakin came back and took him.

Basicly the way Lucas wrote it R2D2 is a tremendous dick he knows everything and he doesn't tell anyone. He knows Luke and Leia are brother and sister, he knows Vader is their father (and he was Anakins droid for the entire clone wars) as well as a bunch of other things. Hell he stood next to Padme as she died.

But yeah Obi Wan should rememeber R2 at the very least as they had many adventures together.

obi-wan was an old man, and was obviously suffering with memory problems

and R2, had problems recognizing obi-wan after he had aged so much. his face had changed from a euan mcgregor, to a alec guinness, his own mother wold have problem recognizing him
