New Moon on Monday or never show your face around these forums again.

Nah, just kidding. Hungry Like the Wolf is a classic. Loop it up with A View to a Kill, and your day is set. But seriously, New Moon on Monday had better be in that loop, too, or never show your face around these forums again.

Some one actually stated a few pages earlier that the game engine could handle 200v200 PvP I'm pretty sure they could at least make a warzone out of space combat at least.

Yeah I wouldn't be totally surprised to never see an RvR revamp of Ilum..... I wouldn't be totally surprised to discover they don't have a single person working on it at the moment either.

I hope that isn't the case however, and engines can be optimised, WARs engine by 1.3.6 was a completely different beast to WARs engine at 1.0.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

Currently (or at least when the game went Live) there was no way Ilum was handling that many (40v40 was pushing it).

I've not seen numbers above warzone levels for so long now, it would be impossible to tell if they've improved it.

Not to mention, the framerate should be pretty good with only space to render. No trees, grass, wind effects etc. should help speed things up.

That's true, and tbh they already have alot of in game models used for the scenery that could easily implement into PvP I've even seen forums that list the different ship models.

The HERO engine can handle 200v200. Thus BioWare needs to fix the engine to be capable of what it could handle in the first place and we'll be set.

I wouldn't say "never"...

The people who were working on this were probably within the 200+ development team members who were laid off. That's why we haven't heard anything.

Usually with layoffs the teams that do core innovation are the first to go, because short-term the company needs them less than the teams that maintain the game, tweak existing mechanics and add trivial things like items/graphics/animations. Whole new systems like 3d space combat are more expensive to implement than a new planet, for instance, because there are already existing templates and interfaces for the latter.
