I think it would have be fleshed out functioning "space" though (at least to the extent of JTLs). Not just a series of 3D missions.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

^ Same here.

It's been real but the game just wasn't worth the sub for me anymore.

I agree with this. They really need to communicate with us and tell us if they're even working on this "Secret Space Project" still. The fact that we haven't heard anything since PAX East kinda worries me. Who knows, maybe they scrapped it with the F2P announcement. They probably don't realize that 3D Space can do wonders for the game.

TWO REASON WHY I WOULD NOT HOLD MY BREATH FOR FREE ROAMING SPACE FLIGHT.

Reason 1: People like you and people like myself already log in and pay our monthly fee, why would they need to revamp an entire system, when the playerbase is already paying for the content available.

(maybe they can charge us for a space upgrade, but they are already going to charge us for custom gear and server transfers and other shineys. The store will bring in a ton of revenue with very little work, you can say that you wont buy that stuff but you will.)

Reason 2: EVE online and STO have some prettty solid space content, as did SWG. The big problem IMO would be convincing the "higher ups" that a massive overhaul would help.

Those higher ups are going to be more concerning with numbers as proof, well here is the problem
http://users.telenet.be/mmodata/Charts/Subs-1.png. This chart has WoW at 10 mill subs (no space)
http://users.telenet.be/mmodata/Charts/Subs-2.png This one has global eve at 350K
http://users.telenet.be/mmodata/Charts/Subs-3.png Here is Star Trek at under 60K
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Star Wars Galaxies is No More.

I think space content is awesome, but i just dont see EA/Lucas Arts vesting so much time and money into something that is not going to bring in even 400K, and that is being extremly generous. SWTOR would be luck to increase subs by 100K with those numbers.

How can we convey to these big wigs that space content will affect their finace when we log in everyday and start forking over the cash for flying mounts or orange moddable versions of the green gammorean gear (which i would buy).

I realize that SWTOR is pretty low on sub numbers as well, but with F2P coming sub numbers will increase and if they increase alot, then you will be less likely to see a space overhaul.

This is the biggest problem with this endless complaint that "They aren't communicating with us."

You see, they ARE communicating, but you people in particular just aren't doing the work you need to do to follow what they're saying.

To wit... from 18 days ago...

The "more space content coming in the near future" is of course referring to the 10 new space missions that are in the same style (sort of) as the existing space missions. It has also been clarified that these new space missions are NOT the same thing as the SSSP. And I'm not sure where that was originally stated, but it was a developer gold post.

All that says though is the SSSP is still alive. It doesn't say what it is, it doesn't say when it is. It's the very bare mimimum of infomation past none.

Now there are likely very valid (from Bioware's point of view) reasons for that, but you simply cannot use that as an example of excellent communication, because frankly "soon™" would have revealed about as much about the SSSP.

It's been 9 months since the SSSP was first talked about now, you'd think they've have something definate to say about it by now, besides it's a "whole new pixel space".

He answered a guy who was complaining that we didn't even know whether the SSP is continuing development. It would be correct to say that a lot of "Bioware is not communicating with us" sentiment comes from not using the dev tracker or paying much attention to the forums. Not all of it, but a good deal of it.

Sorry, but the poster I was responding to was remarking that the entire project had probably been scrapped and that we "hadn't heard anything about it since PAX East".

And the reasons why they would obviously not be revealing all kinds of details about the project has been discussed endlessly on this board.

I cannot help people who are still clueless as to why BioWare would be keeping those details close to home for the time being. I'm sorry.

They have no real reason to not reveal some details (if they have anything to show, or even proper plans).

Look at JTL that was announced in its earliest development stage.

How do you know they have no real reason not to reveal details?
Perhaps they want to avoid having the project copied and pushed out faster(through dedicating more of a proportion of resources) by a competing MMO?

Saying "look at MMO X" is no more a logical argument then "But mom, Johhny's mom bought him a 360, why don't you buy me one?"
