Mark my words, the next time EA announces the sub count, it will either be the same as last time or slightly on the rise!

Not sure it was 3 months after launch...but I will take your word for it. But WoWs Cata expansion is still 39.99.
But hey....19.99 for KOTOR3?...awesome price.
Trust is something which is earned.

LIe and purposely mislead are not the same. BW/EA purposely mislead you in everything they say.
If this game is so great then why do so many people that love the game spend all their time in the forums?

How do you know there will be new subs?

Less and less people are playing the game but that to the fanboys doesnt mean a loss is subs, but now since they are releaseing LFG,1.3 and had transfers there will be an increase in subs because it wont be the people that have active subs but not playing that return but people who have quit. I guess the people with subs that dont play are just waiting on 1.4 to come out and not 1.3.

It must be nice that you fanboys can just make up a group of people that dont really exist.

But when it comes to WoW and their 10 million then it's alright right and they aren't lying?
You are spot on
Anything any MMO does is fine by people, and they nod and say " thats understandable"
Anything TOR does people rage up and say its outrageous, and obviliously a lie because they said so.

Of course, though, there are ways to massage the data to make it seem more optimistic than it actually is without outright lying.

I'll be watching to see if the newly meta-merged servers start to trend down in terms of player hours.

But my thought, by the time we get to the actual announcement, they may not actually speak to active subscriptions, as much as players over X amount of time. That is what Activision does now, which conceals how many are active at a point in time. They'll be strongly pressed by Wall Street to call out more directly, what the real numbers are. But to talk about how bad it likely got, or is getting, serves them no purpose at this point.

They'll likely note that the game has broken even or otherwise well recouped the production costs. This is almost certainly true due to the raw cash the retail sales generated, and the realistic production budgets put out there. Even with declining subscriptions, they've done nearly no marketing, and have had subscription money coming in.

My thought is that we are looking at a worse case scenario of 600,000. More likely, it is between 800,000 and 900,000. But I think they may have sunk below the million mark by now. That is if the bleeding has continued at the same pace as before. I don't think the updates have impressed any of those who left, or were on the edge. The good news is that we should be close to the hard bottom, boiling the game down to the real core of players. But there is drama with server merges, F2P, experience amounts, and so forth.

The advent of F2P will spike players in-game, it will start SWTOR into the conveyor belt of churning subscriptions. The main value will be PR. They'll point to large numbers of players in-game, but again skirt how many are actually subscribing. Mainly they'll use it as a way of stopping the PR of losing players. As well they should. Even I tend to think the negative banter has run its course. They need to shift the focus to a game growing again, rebuilding, starting down a path that is "enlightened" by experience and user feedback. Etc.
