SWG space was awesome, until you had to take 4 shuttles to get back to where you left your ship. Having a full crew YT-1300 was awesome, though for PvP I saw more than a fair share of other people on Tempest, but they always outgeared me and I went down in flames.

The way the Hero Engine tends to get real laggy when a bunch of people start fighting up close, I dont know if it could handle a 20v20 dogfight. Though it wouldnt be as gfx intense since there would be fewer skills being used/particle effects.

Being able to take a guild capital ship into battle with a fighter escort would definitely get me back in space.
When I run, I am running as if I am running towards someone attacking my family. When I lift, I am lifting the weight that is about to crush my child. Every workout you do is preparation for a time where it really matters. If you do not train like someone's life depends on you, what will you do when one does?

I don't think that 10 million subs is anywhere near remotely feasible. Not with the MMO community as it's currently constituted. Seems like a lot of MMO players just jump from game to game constantly, complain about what's wrong with that game, and then move on to the next game that comes out. So if they did add real open space flight w/ combat, there'd likely just be 500 new threads in here about how "Space Flight kills MMO's, so I'm going to play GW2" or some such nonsense.

I would throw money at BioWare if they released a space expansion complete with space operations, space warzones, space exploration and a new array of customizable ships from snub fighters to star destroyers.

I would pay so much money for this.

BIOWARE, MAKE THIS HAPPEN AND TAKE MY MONEY, PLEASE

By the way . . . the US/EU mmo market only has a realistic 5 million or so (i.e. the max WoW was able to achieve). Hitting 10million requires half the subs coming from Asia (and note that Blizzard had a strong foothold in the Asian market due to the popularity of the original Warcraft series).

For SWTOR to acquire that much of the Asian market would be extremely difficult due to the investment required (while subs and funding fall), the competition from so many other popular games there, and the lack of confidence in EA and SWTOR (i.e. they haven't been playing a related product happily for years, like with Warcraft).

that makes no sense... 5 million or so? you mean MMO players? you are trying to tell my 4/5th of ALL mmo players in US/EU subbed to WoW at the same time? lmao... given the pop of the USA alone is around 312 million and the prevalence of gaming I can easily call crap on that one

lol u think EA is gonna distribute the money to Bioware to do this? They already f'ed up hard. With that money, from a risk-vs-return perspective, it'd be cheaper to just release a Star Wars space game via stand alone and milk the life out of SWTOR.

Even the bioware founders have lost faith in the game, why else do you think the PR release was from Dr Muzyka?

i think WoW at its peak only had 3-4 million in the US and EU. now its around 2 milion in the EU and US.

While it would be a big investment to break into the Asian market as they need voice actors and redo all the text. Star Wars is probably just as big in Asia as Warcraft is so there is the potential for some massive profits there. Of course remember WoW didn't go into Asia until some time after The Burning Crusade expansion which would be around 2+ years after launch so I don't expect it to be happening any time soon for SWTOR. But it's still possible.

They already said its on their wall of crazy (Wall of stuff to do) but they also said don't expect it for a while. Its on the same list as Guild Capital Ships, but like I said, don't expect it for a while.

I would love to see it, but I don't wanna read all the people who are gonna rage about it on the forums for weeks on end even though they were some of the ones begging for it in the first place.

I sometimes wish all these people would go form a game company and make their own games...
Do or do not. There is no try
