Hey not sure if this is problem for anyone. but im having some serious issuess with Latency in TOR atm Ive talked to my ISP ran speed tests my internet is running great. However when i log into the game my latency jumps all over from 50 to 50000 and this has been happening for couple weeks several times a day. Just wondering if this is a known issue and if there is fix for it.

This is happening to me as well. My internet connection is fine, latency spikes all over the place. I was running the game fine 2 nights ago, but last night I couldn't play for longer than 5 minutes without getting disconnected.

I just spoke to my ISP, and it looks like this may definitely be an issue game side.

Greetings All,

To try to pin down where this issue is arising from please perform the following procedure while experiencing connectivity issues.

Firstly, if you connect via Wi-Fi please instead connect your machine directly with a cable if possible.

In order to generate a Trace Route, please complete the following steps:
  • Press Windows Key + R, type ‘cmd’ and press Enter. In the command window, please type in the following command:
    • tracert xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx > C:\tracert.txt
      • Please replace ‘xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx’ by the relevant server IP.
        • If you play on an East Coast server: 159.153.92.28
        • If you play on a West Coast server: 159.153.68.252
        • If you play on a European server: 159.153.72.252
  • A file ‘tracert.txt’ will be created on your local drive C: and will contain the trace route information.
  • Copy/Paste the content of the file into your post using this format:
content of tracert.txt
Please modify your tracert.txt file so that your IP address (entry number 1 in the list of IP addresses) is not visible and attach the tracert.txt to your reply for analysis

We do have a connectivity troubleshooting page here:
http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=1476
It may be helpful to some users to go through that and perform any of the relevant steps.

Please note we are unable to support users with 3G internet connections or over-clocked systems.

Greetings Eriline,

Is the erratic latency you are experiencing only on one server or on every server you play on? Did you avail of the character transfer service? Please also confirm you have completed the connectivity troubleshooting steps linked to in my previous post.

Thank you for playing Star Wars: The Old Republic
