So, How Many Names Did You Lose?

Zero, as I expected.

I lost one name to myself as I had made a couple republic alts on what turned out to be the destination server for my imperials. I did lose my legacy name though, but I was't that attached to it. Going from a dead server to one with multiple fleets running is a huge improvement.

Wow, Vornskr just got allowed onto Harbinger today, and getting names sucks.

Before I made the actual transfer I just checked to see which of my names might be available. I figured I'd have no chance on a couple of them, and am fine with that, but thought I could probably at least get a variant on some of the others, but wow. I tried over 10 variants on one of them, all with no luck. I think only one of my names was available unmodified.

I, apparently erroneously, thought my names were unique enough to at least have a chance of a variant, but holy cow. I might just stay where I am, dead or no. It doesn't help that my Imps (from Gauntlet of Kreesh) went to the same server last week, so I don't even have enough room for all my characters.

edit: Now I'm trying to log into Harbinger again just to try more names, and it lists a 20 minute queue to even get on. Forget it,

Some of these names you think are taken by people who quit, may actually be used by someone who has a lot of alts and just doesn't get around to that character much. Maybe it's the name they use on their GTN mule. BioWare can't and won't steal their name to make you happy. They have a right to use it. It's just a bunch of letters. Change your spelling or add a hyphen or space or apostrophe.

I only lost one. "Corvan" and I figured I would lose that one as it's pretty common. Replaced it with Corlan...it's not as though it's a big deal.

Some people in my guild had a lot of rage about this. They'd raced to log in dec 13th or whatever the absolute first possible moment was to get their names, and then to be forced to change them because BioWare wrecked the server we were on did no make them happy people. And rightfully so, people cared a lot about their names and BioWare didn't even try and resolve the issue in a fair way, so I'll probably need to recruit more people and bioware will lose some more subs. Serves them right.

kept my legacy name which is awesome ! lost 1 char name out of 6 so all and all it was a good transfer.

That being said I think some people need to chill its just a name ! It sucks yes but gosh darn don't loose any sleep over it.

I transferred to Harbinger on Sunday, lost one out of my five character names, and the Guild name. I expected to lose that name, so I looked the name up and used a different language version of it after the transfer.

6/8 and legacy name :\ main's name taken by an inactive level 14..
