Come on.

More people play the game the more people to use the database and visit the site. If you dont think that site hits are the number one factor in their revenue stream I really dont know what to tell you.

Is very simple internet economics.

Also, am I sniffing a conspiracy theory? Are you implying that Justin is MORE negative on gamebreaker by design?

The "transfers" were very much needed and I can only hope they will help the game.

That said, it's extremely clear to me that these limited, one-to-one transfers are just mergers in disguise--all so BioWare (or EA) won't have to admit that they had to merge servers six months after launching the most anticipated MMO ever.

Are they really that afraid of the word? And if so, why? Is it because mergers actually do portend a dying (at least hurting) game? Methinks that's the case.

You can pull the wool over the eyes of many in this community, but not this guy.

Oh yeah ? Then what would you say if Bioware told you: "The ONLY way you are getting out of your server is by PAYING a transfer fee, and that is IF we even decide to let you do it at a later stage."

What would you say then ?
You are not your rig specs. You are not your K/D ratio. You are not your character level. You are not your sig.

The game is struggling. This is only a secret to a few sunshine pumpers running around the forums here. Trying to disguise these mergers as "Transfers" is fooling no one in the industry or greater MMO community.

The bigger concern is not the transfers but what is comming in the future to address the reasons the transfers were needed in the first place.

This whole thing is like giving some guy an award and pat on the back for putting a bad aid on a half severed limb. This is a stop gap to slow the bleeding but unless Bioware chooses to alter course a bit this is only going to slow the bleeding and not stop it.

The DH podcast is more about giving information. The gamebreaker show is more about commentary and speculation. They're different shows. Both have bias TOWARDS swtor...but GBTV is more apt to criticize due to it's format.

For one, they need to address the open world PvP issue--quickly. The game took a hit when Ilum was dropped. Unless SWTOR solidifies a meaningful open world PvP game, it's in trouble when GW2 launches.

There are two distinct issues I feel the game has:

One is the decision to focus squarely on story elements then completely ignore them post launch. Not one update has come with any meaningful story progression for characters. It was a pretty big gamble to make this the focal point of their MMO but not supporting it after seems completely folly to me. They need to advance the "story" in meaningful ways and at regular intervals in the future.

Second is the lack of any semblance of freedom and liveliness. What I mean is this whole game is on much tighter rails than really anything out now. The space, the leveling, the pvp. They need to move towards greater options (pvp, leveling choices, open space) and towards more sandbox oriented elements. Im not saying the game needs to go full sandbox, but it needs to work itself into a more hybridized game.
