Hmm, X-Server LFG was very much a win for me in WoW. I got groups quick, and blew through content with strangers. I liked it very much.

There will be as a min, twice as many dps for the roles in group runs for TOR as compared to tank and healer roles. The same situation will be present on the servers when 1.3 goes live. Having no dual spec and also openings in a group for runs for only 2 dps will actually make it worse. I am not talking about the success of it on servers like say....Fatman or Ebon Hawk even, but lower pop ones. For any tool/feature to be successful it has to work well on "all" the servers.

QFT... this is something BW and lot of players seem to ignore.

FYI do something while you wait >.>... If you're sitting in the Fleet you didn't even need the LFG tool to look for a group... >.>

LFD is for people who like doing things as they wait .

Wrong, people want the LFD too so they can chain run FP's/Ops

Hmm, yes, i guess you're right. I didn't realize that they can speak about that old LFG, since this topic is about the incoming same-server automated one.
Anyway, you can't really compare them. Pre-3.3 LFG in WoW was just a more polished version of the one that we have in SWTOR today i.e. just a list of players who want to do something.

I think you need to read that article more closely.....I quote...."In Patch 3.1.0, after the release of Wrath of the Lich King, the Looking For Group panel was improved to include the role which your currently logged character is able to fulfill (tank, damage, or healer), specify leadership, and identifying groups or individuals via the Looking for More pane.

First announced at BlizzCon 2009, Patch 3.3.0 saw a new cross-server Looking For Group (and Looking For Raid) system. This is the second cross-server feature Blizzard has added to the game, after Battlegrounds. Cross-server features are generally used to help users on low-population realms find groups, which was previously nearly impossible any time other than peak hours.

As you can see the "cross server" tool was not added until patch 3.3.0. This was for PVE. They did have a cross server PVP one for Battlegrounds before then. Before that it was same server only for PVE...with different types of styles for use by the players. For all purposes it was a failure. Thus Blizzard came out with the cross server one in 2009 for PVE.

Of course, you will have those people, like yourself, who refuse to do anything to improve their situation with regards to server population, and so a single server tool may not work for them.
Let me guess this is your first MMO.... You'd have no expereince on what a actual populated server would feel like.

But furthermore you wouldn't know some servers are still being played on even in off peak times.. meaning having a cross server tool so those players could be lumped with others who are playing during thier peak times on other servers would make thier gaming as fun as during thier peak times.

So yes having a large pool of players to play with will mean more chances to run into that player you hate but just as much more of a chance of finding a group and enjoying yourself instead of sitting in fleet waiting for others in your timezone to log on and hope they play on your server.

This is funny... not ha-ha funny, but SAD funny.

All the new same server SWTOR LFG is: simply a more polished current LFG.

And you BELIEVE religiously that it will work... Sad funny...

And this pisses you off so bad why? you want to force them to rp with you at a cantina on hoth? aint gonna happen.

If people like something in the game why are you so hell bent on making it harder for them to do it?
