Cat man dies in the attack on the gauntlet.
I don't like the light side.

Not necessarily. Whoever you promoted in time for the mission on the Gauntlet is severely wounded, and not available to take out on missions for a short while.

I sent Jorgan and Elara to hold the bridge and it was Elara that bit the bullet and was laid out for a few days in the med bay. If you send Forex and Jorgan then it's Jorgan who hits his back and needs a nurse.

I THINK it goes that whoever you promoted gets injured, and if you leave your XO on the ship, your humanoid companion (as opposed to 4X) bites it.
Time for a nap.

The first part isn't true. I promoted Jorgan and chose him and Elara to do the mission alone. I knew from reading spoilers on the forums that Elara would get laid out and since i was a CM Commando I never used Elara for healing. I couldn't risk not having Jorgan's cannon out while questing since I wasn't entirely sure how long the companion would be out.

Turns out it's really not that long. Not long enough to really effect questing anyway.

Ah meh, nobody dies. There's a difference between being heavily injured and returning after like 3 quests and being dead for the rest of the game.
