OP: you are doing something wrong if you have only 200 credits at all times.

#1 Don't put up useless greens on the AH, just vendor them
#2 Read up on the crew skills and learn to use them (I would suggest slicing because its VERY newbie friendly, and it should net you a decent profit, allowing you to worry about leveling and come back to picking up a different skill later)

I do agree to some point that the costs get pretty extreme. It's not that I don't have the credits, I do, but the cost gets pretty high (along with speeder training, repairs, etc).

I have no idea how people can't afford training. There was only once I couldn't right at 40, because I purchased the 55k speeder instead of the cheaper one and purchased the 50k bag slot increase. I didn't have slicing and my crafting/gathering were up to my level and probably above. Loot and sell EVERYTHING.

I didn't get that from the post at all.

You have enough money from just running your missions to pay for all training costs provided you don't spend a lot on OTHER things.

You shouldn't have to do much more that the class quest line to afford the class skills. They can't up the rewards from the class quests to fulfill the training needs because some will waste it so they are left with discounting the training costs. Don't come in here with the argument that you need to PvP, do space missions, grind out every mission and mob so we can have a stash of credits, you do those things to afford luxuries. The basic tools of survival should be directly proportional to the average rewards you receive from the bare bones quest line. when you make it where you have to participate in aspects of the game you don't enjoy just to make it by, it's called a grind and if I want to waste time not enjoying myself after a hard day's work I don't need SWTOR to do so. I enjoy this game to no end. I will probably play regardless because I learned in 3 months of beta how to play and make money but I speak on behalf of the masses, it doesn't need to cost an arm and a leg to afford the basic necessities. Also, if you are here claiming that you have plenty of cash try going out and casually doing quests. you will afford the class skills up until about thirty then you'll start having to make sacrifices in areas you shouldn't be made to sacrifice.

I don't agree. The class quest line is a tiny part of the overall content of the game. Simply saying you should have enough money based on playing that small portion of content is quite odd.

The most credits i have had is 253k, I can tell you i have no problems with credits and i will tell you why.

I'm level 44 and have all 3 crew skills around 320-340 with all my class skill trained (and I'm in the 26-28k for each range.

I also bought the level 2 speeder training and the speeder, soon i will start saving for the level 3 while i get all 3 crew skills to 400 and all class abilities bought.

So yes it can be done, make sure you do all quest on the planet (Do not just do the story quest), just because a quest tells you to leave the planet doesn't mean you have to. If you do you are throwing away tons of credits from quest, items, chest, and grey items.

Training costs are not too high...anyone that thinks so is doing something wrong. When I was 25, I was 10k short of what I needed for my speeder. Halfway through 25 I had it. At 26 I couldn't afford one skill, but less than an hour later I had plenty. Since then, at 39, I have 250k credits. When I ding 40 it's all going to speeder and I'll be back in the same situation I'm sure.

I have three crew skills, one at 400 and two in the upper 200's. I've purchased three companion kits (two by accident..). I've purchased a number of things on the market, total around 40k. I've never sold anything anywhere except to a vendor. My bank is FILLED with mission items and 20-30's purples to sell. Oh and I've upgraded my inventory three times, so that's what, 20-30k?

Point being, as someone who spends a crapton more money than they should, I still have ZERO issues with credits. If I sold anything useful, didn't buy anything useless, I'd have more money than I could figure out what to do with.

I find it baffling you don't have enough money. Either you're not looting grays (you do have enough inventory space for it), or you're simply going in, doing an objective, and quick traveling out. Killing the extra monsters on your way in/out of an area (besides getting you a good bit of xp) gets you a good amount of grays to sell to the vendor. I'm 17 and have about 11k credits, which is probably lower than it should be because of companion missions.

Yea i don't get it either. My first MMO. Level 29, bought every skill and i have 58k right now. I've also bought both 5k and 20k inventory slots. I bought the 20k slot the other night and it brought be down to 32k, That same night from questing i was back up to 53k.

I also don't sell anything on the GTN. I only have archaeology to 235 and TH to 100 and artifice to 75.

Are you dieing a lot?

Just as a heads up...

Speeder Training 1 (Level 25) = 40,000 Credits
Speeder Training 2 (Level 40) = 210,000 Credits
Speeder Training 3 (Level 50) = 300,000 Credits

I'm not saying that you should have enough money period from the class chain, I'm saying that for all the basic class skill training(to be able to continue your storyline) yes you should. It just seems logical that the lore that you learn the skills in should pay for the actual skill training. It's largely how an XP skillup system is based and that system is far more immersive than paying for training. I count mounts, crew skills, and other things as luxuries not actually essential to storyline progression.
I think the storyline(with some other quests included) should be separated from the rest of the content because to some that's all they want to do and if they are forced to do extracurricular activities for credits their view of the game won't be a very happy one. Making someone pay credits they had to earn through other activities is essentially like putting a heroic (4) quest in the class progression, it requires you to go beyond what you want to do to have fun.
