I can agree on just the things the OP posted yet tons of things left out when compared to ANY.. ANY other MMO .. is the same. All you have to do is take out the story.. the voices when you get a quest and take it... thats it.

So lets come back from la la land. Its a GAME that is trying badly at being a MMO. This is the 1st mmo where I LOVE playing all toons. This is the 1st mmo for ME.. get this.. ME.. where I feel so much I am playing a SOLO game. Follow the path way to much and though you see people you feel alone. Citys, ships people just stand there.

This is where its exactly like other mmos. You have wild life that NEVER MOVES more then 1-2 feet..ever! You have NPC's you talk to, you have to kill STANDING THERE! And whats up with this in groups or 2-3 most the time.. just standing there.

Don't you people EVER expect ANYTHING? Dont you years before 2004 till now expect ANYTHING? NPC's have been just standing there for over 7 years and we still don't expect anything different. OMG it plays a little moving when taking a quest.. WOW best MMO EVER! No one every did this.... go kill 10 and get 20.. blah blah. Just look at your map you cant get lost just follow the path.

And this is new how? Love the game I do.. but please don't turn it in to something its not. When the npc you are shooting just stands there taking shoots.. yeah be to hard to have them ..any npc.. run for cover. We need to STOP being sheep.

Yes, or more precisely, it's attempting to stand toe-to-toe with the mega-giant MMO. I'm amazed more don't realize this.

Adding a layer of features on top of a WoW base does not free SWTOR from comparisons to the very game its core most closely matches. If you ever want a litmus test for whether or not you're being overly optimistic about the game (ie. a fanboy), ask yourself if you think SWTOR can be compared to WoW. If you say, "no", then you've just confirmed that your picture of SWTOR is a little too rosy to be reasonable. SWTOR is a good game, no doubt about that, but that fact cannot blind one to the fact that, at its core, it is just another WoW-clone with extra sparkles in some places (and not enough in others).

I would want to hear answer for that one, especially after we hit level cap
can you make sword in box light sword so sword come out when opened? then if sword is back after sword, use light saber on box, and saber will be boxed after sword is out.

There is no action consequence, it's an illusion. I don't want to change other folks games just mine. Choices I make should come back to bite me, I should be able to peeve my companion so they leave me etc...
I don't know if you played Cataclysm, the latest expansion in WOW, but in that "devolution" of the game they introduced phasing. This phased questing system transformed the zone for the player based on the actions they took, rather, the part of the quest line they were in. Mt. Hyjal was one zone to be exact. The problem with that is you're always left playing alone because one person hasn't taken the same path as you or isn't on that part, etc. I personally don't like that style of questing.

i don't like Huttballl and space combat is just silly. The rest is pretty neat.
I just know there's something dark in me and I hide it. I certainly don't talk about it, but it's there always, this Dark Passenger.

Phasing actually came about in Wrath, not Cataclysm, though the antecedent came in a BC daily quest. Yes, there are consequences to it, with different individuals being out of phase, but the benefits are still quite substantial, and if the phasing desyncronization can be resolved (and they can be!), then it's worth it in many ways.

Unfortunately, everything in this game HAS been done somehow by other games in the past. But I can say it is REALLY well done in this game. Here are some game's examples:

#1 Guild wars: Nightfall. This expansion of the game WAS almost solely based on the fact that you had some new 'hero' friends with you, that you could gear up, control, and even choose their SPELLS.

#2 EVE: online IS about having your star ship and controlling it.

#4 Two words: Grand Fantasia. That game gave you access to little pets that were doing your professions for you. The only thing you had to do is click the little 'sent to gather' option, and it was done.

#5 Eden Eternal did something somewhat 'similar'. They'd gave you a new 'gear set' every time you leveled 10 levels or so, and you could choose between all those 'gear set' you had unlocked to choose the look of your character. The only downside was that you didn't have a lot of set to choose from, even at max character level.

#10 As for faction grinding, I am NOT sure there is 'none of it', since there IS repeatable quest in-game, and that you gain 'Faction/planet token' from those quests. And, those tokens are currency to actually buy things in certain planet/faction. So I bet it'll be 'somewhat' similar to WoW faction grinding, but maybe with less actual grinding.

Just my two cents. But hey, I freakin' LOVE that game anyway !

Great game. I can see much more coming to it in the future to keep us even more glued to it.
