Nope, sorry.

BW has had over 6 years working on this game and has had all the money in the world to include SIMPLE and NECESSARY features for every mmo.

I'm sorry but, it's BW shooting themselves in the foot over and over, not us.

I have given them time. I am a consumer of gaming products. I have been for 35+ years. I'm not about to subject myself to un-enjoyable entertainment. SWTOR just isn't fun. The long load times (even with SSD and a ridiculously OP gaming system), the FPS in high populated areas, the bugs, the bugs that are still apparent since beta on final boss encounters, glitches, and now lack of population on the 3 servers I played on. Don't even get me started on the catastrophe that is known as Ilum.

I purchased Tera Online thinking that it would completely suck, but would be better than dealing with the issues that surround SWTOR. To my pleasant surprise, the game is an absolute blast.

I may come back when server transfers open up, but something is telling me they'll screw that up too. Which is very unfortunate because I absolutely loved this game in beta and though that they would have things figured out and fixed by now. They need to tighten up!

When will people realize that this game was made by Mythic and not BioWare? Mythic has made MMOs before and failed to deliver 50% of the time (not including SWTOR for arguments' sake). The Austin team is just a gutted Mythic team.

Some of the writers from BioWare wrote the story, which is pretty good depending on your class, and emotionally flat and monotonous the rest of the time. That back handed compliment aside, it is the only good thing going for the game. Everything else is average. The story ends and you are left with slow, boring, and often unresponsive combat/gameplay (unresponsive controls plagued WAR as anyone will tell you). That would not be so bad if there was anything really compelling to do when it did, but there is not. There are no sandbox or community systems in place anywhere to let players impact a persistent world (because there isn't one), or cooperate/compete in meaningful challenges or RVR. Even flashpoints feels as pointless as WAR dungeons.

It is clear the ex-Mythic devs do not learn from their mistakes, and just don't have the balls or imagination to create satisfying or compelling gameplay. There's no positive reinforcement to be found in the gameplay here that rewards a well placed cast, for example.

You could have all the story in the world and it will never make up for poor controls and weak play.

Furthermore, putting so much focus on solo content in an online game just completely ignores everything good that can be accomplished by linking people together on the internet, and weakens the single player component as well. The whole game segregates you from other people by design so you never step on each others toes, because that would be sacrilege or something. The class stories aren't even linked in any way. The other people may not even exist. They could have done something awesome if class stories intersected and you had to recruit a real person to do a mission together with wildly different objectives for each person simultaneously.

They had plenty of time before release to do whatever they wanted. Unfortunately, they spent that time making poor decisions for content and features. They severely underestimated how polished the player base would accept the game being upon release and they paid the price for it. Had they actually done their homework and made better decisions, they'd probably have double the subscribers now than they do.
I'm not arrogant. I'm just aware of my greatness.

If KOTORII wasn't rushed to meet it's holiday deadline it would be by far head and shoulders above KOTOR. Better characters, more development, much better villians, better dialogue. Obsidian has some of the best writers in video gaming period.

BTW KOTOR is complete garbage if you compare it to Baulders Gate 1 or 2.

/ontopic They've already had enough time. Over five years of development time, and for what? Zero systems developed to combat server turnover. What do we get instead? Legacy, what a *********** waste of time.
I need about tree fitty.

how long should they have to fix bugs that were noticed in beta?

how long should they have to fix problems that were there since launch?

I'm all for giving them new time to introduce new content. No one with a reasonable mindframe expect to have a full on endgame system implemented at launch.

I'm all for patience with letting the game develop.

I'm not thrilled with crashing 3 times a night. I'm not thrilled with bugs that have been around since beta. I'm not thrilled with patch, patch again, and then patch a third time. I'm not thrilled with the fanbois who scream at anyone who complains about the game (NOT saying the OP is one of those).

Bioware HAS had time to show us what they are like and how they will run the game. They have had 5 months to show us. And many of us have been disappointed and lost confidence in what they have shown us. The loss of 25% of subscriptions was just the start. Bioware is running OUT of time to fix this game because they have WASTED the time so far.

Once I gave myself time to think it over, however, I realized that there's no point in being irritated. You people need to know that this is Bioware's -FIRST MMO-. They're still learning how to do it. It takes time to learn how to make sufficient patches on the first try, or to polish the game to a certain degree. As store-shelf game designers, Bioware is used to being able to fix a mistake a long while after's it's made because they notice during the development and testing process. In a video game, you have at least a couple of months of testing. In a mmo, they're rushing to put the patch out(Here, I'm not talking about the actual game, just the patch. Bioware had several months of BETA to test it). Until Bioware learns some of these skills needed to run an MMO, we will notice some issues.

On top of inexperience, Bioware is also having issues with both EA and the Mass Effect 3 ending. EA has rushed them to complete both TOR and Mass Effect 3 on time in order to compete with other titles as is what happens when you have another company calling the shots for you. When it comes to Customer support, most of the issues people have are there simply because they've never played an MMO before. I've seen people complaining about selling something they needed and not getting a warning. That's simply how an MMO is. On top of that, TOR gets THOSANDS of help requests every day. If your ticket isn't addressed immediately, or is addressed inadequately, -BE PATIENT-. Continue asking for assistance if they failed to help you and you will get your answer eventually.

For those of you whom can't even log into the game due to crashes, I don't blame you for unsubscribing.....But if you do, and actually like the game, check back in with it eventually. Chances are, they will have fixed it.

Now then, before you say that I'm a Bioware/EA fanboy, please note that I have only ever played one Bioware game which was the original KOTOR and I preferred KOTOR II to that. When it comes to EA, I have two games by them that I don't really pay much mind.
In house testers are used during the whole development process. The beta is to lure hackers into finding the hacks and reporting them to customer service which usually fails. The PTS is the same deal and just a lure to keep gamers from progressing. Companies do not care what you think in a PTS.

We ROFL when when some avatar named Abigale or Amber whatever asked us to report bugs in beta. begging us. Pffft not gonna happen. Hackers make more then 30 grand a year so so much for in house testers.. meh

Bioware is a bumper sticker that EA bought reference horribad Baulders Gate which was toppled by AOW and NoX. Most of this game was outsourced. Baulders Gate left such a long lasting impression that I didn't even know it was associated with Bioware. I imagine that was less expensive bumper stick to buy then lets say Blizzard North. The younger gamer just sees longevity which to put it kindly with word association Nixon Watergate.

This is personal opinion. The features people are requesting are not necessary for ME. I am sure the majority felt that we did not need these features at LAUNCH.
