I don't know...

I use to be against micro-transactions but, they've become so common that I'm getting a little ambivalent towards them. Almost every modern MMO that exists now ,has some form of in-game 'shop', so why not here?

Personally as long as the items were just fun, fluff, and cosmetic in nature (and only that, forever), I'd have no issue with a SW:TOR store.

SWTOR won't be going F2P anytime soon lol.

Contrary to the forum dwellers and naysayers it's holding fast as the second largest current MMO in the west.

Pretty sure with that kind of success it won't be going F2P.

Nothing. I wouldn't want them to go that route. It ruins games.

Bf3 want to get ahead? Use Our micro transactions To get your unlocks
This Is An add on bf3 battle log
I hate this style of pay to win and is just like cheating in my books
I hope they never introduce this system for this game, vanity items would be ok
But nothing else....

Haha Funcom. They put the FU in fun.

On topic, I would rather not see any pay to win type of setup. In other words, only cosmetic items should be in the store and should be credits only for those with CE.
Dear BW,
Please nerf paper and buff rock. Scissors is fine as is.

Microtransactions, what the hell?

We pay a monthly subscription - it's not free to play, I can see no excuse for any microtransactions whatsoever. An expansion pack would be one thing, but even that at the moment would be a bit much considering the deficits in the game and its population problems.

I think MT B2P or P2P(pay to progress) is the future MMO model...

But, from experience I'll tell what NOT to do.

Pets, cheap vanity efforts, worthless stuff. In the end it makes the game makers look bad because there is usually the 'there is way more important' things we need instead of useless fluff.

But, if you make pets make sure you charge LOTS for it and make like every 'custom' color separate to maximize the $$ for fluff stuff (which people with money love).

Good things to do -
Shared Bank across acount
Transfer -doh
booster for XP or Valor
Quality Quests

You really can't support a game by charging monthly subscription anymore..

I'd love to see microtransactions as an option. But I think its the "option" that is key. If we have a sub, we should get all content, but allowing some with less time to play (super-casuals) the chance to enjoy the game as much as I do? I'm all for it. You should be too.

Let them spend their real money to have that wicked gun, cool mount and floating droid pet. Their extra cash = more devs working on our content without us paying a cent. Truth is, no amount of gear will make someone a better player, just a flashier one. And why should we care about that? Their pretty pixels do not affect our pretty pixels.

If super-casuals could buy cool stuff they may not be insta-kills anymore, but they'll still drop if they dont have the chops. However it adds to the pool of players you group with or mow down, and thats not a bad thing at all.

I challenge anyone here to show me how the LOTRO F2P model is either "play to win" or failed to improve the game.

And it uses microtransactions in an excellent way.

Not all F2P or microtransaction models are identical. Some are fantastic. Some suck.

This game has neither kind yet.
Because SOME People have only a finite amount of money to spend in Frivalous things like MMOs and want it to be a FIXED amount of money that can be budgeted for...
