Well... As I.stated in an previous post. The game even in its current form has a staggering amount of potential. The current weak link is the developers themselves. It's not that they are mean or being controlled by EA. The answer is actually very simple. The devs do not have the necessary experienceto deal with the many many issues any Mmo is going to have. bio's first course if action should be to attempt to work with or recruit members from other Mmo reg teams. This way they could get the experience that they clearly need without having to go through these growing pains(most if which could probably be avoided). One if the main issues I would sat that is an impediment to the games growth is what I am assuming is outsourced customer service. The lvl 1phone techs are if no real help(then again there job is mainly to pas on info to those who can help) however the turn around on this is not satisfactory taken care of in time. So this is one area that really needs fixing

This game while riddled with bugs and other problems. Is still pretty good for an Mmo. Let us not forget that Mmo's are inherently flawed as a genre. Mmo's ask the player to repeat tasks to the point of obsession on most other genre a game like this would be a one trick pony and fade quickly. Yet every Mmo does this and most continue with some sort of success. Of course this game will survive as the entire genre will continue to plod forward as it has for several years.

I would point to EA's first foray into.the Mmo field. Does anyone remember earth and beyond. No of course you don't cause you did not play it. However E&B was a game created by westwood, remember them, and published by EA. Unlike swtor, E&B was so badly broken from day one that it was nearly impossible to play. There was no support and no technical assistance in the entire games short existence. Bioware needs to learn the tale of E&B or risk having EA kill the game due to poor press and lack of sales. Swtor is no where near this point yet, however decisive action needs to be taken quickly if for no other reason to just save face.

E&B was so boring. I couldn't stand play it. I thought SWTOR was like that, flying the stupid spaceship around. However SWTOR's problem is its developers and testers. They do not have a robust software life cycle control process. Add in the incompetency that you get where we are today. Some of the bugs we see in game should never even made it into production if it was tested thoroughly. I do software QA for living, I'd never allowed this kind of product slip through into production.

What record? Their box sale retention is still above average for a new mmo.

Not when your publisher says it's launching XX date no matter what.

doubt it. the bug is related to a change they made to mission items.
