Even low lvl matrix shards are gonne and so i the shards "spent" to craft the cube. hotfix ?

Logged in with my two level 50s today who had the Matrix Cube equipped before the patch.
They were both gone today.

Seriously, how do you mess up those things? I'd really love to understand.
