Just jumping into the pool without your floats on eh? People have been citing articles or quoting posters who have cited these articles on every page.

It's as good as dead, those numbers are manipulated by the "30 days for free".
I guess they will lose another 500k subs next month. The "30 days for free" kept a lot of subscriptions active despite the owners already cancelled them.

Point being?

Or are you another one of those people claiming 90% of all servers are complete ghost towns rofl?
Half servers standard or above, lol.

2 months ago it wasn't half regardless of time zones.

Oh I forgot, you think standard is ok for prime time in a lot of places?

Yup don't worry, everything is fine.

I edited my post after you quoted it.

Yes, holding at 1.3M would be fantastic. Losing 25% every quarter would be a disaster.

I know people like predicting the future, but it's a mixed result, and really it's still too early to say one way or another whether the game will be a long-term success or a long-term failure.

4 months = ~120 days
400000 / 120 = 3333.33

3333 people are leaving the game every day...

120 days = 2880 hours
400000 / 2880 = 138.89

139 people are leaving the game every hour...

Wow... some people really enjoy skewing the numbers to their advantage. 1.7 million subs down to 1.3, losing 400,000 - a loss of around 24%. This was done in three months. At this same rate of decline, you would be looking at less than 750,000 total subs by the 9 month mark ( which would not be considered a 'huge success' ). These numbers for Q4 are for Jan, Feb, and Mar - long before 1.2.

Well, I don't know if you guys didn't hear the playerbase talking, but 1.2 kinda ticked a lot of people off ( especially on the pvp side of things ) and most people that I know and read about cancelled directly after. Keep in mind that most of these people that cancelled will also be getting the free 30 days, so even though they are not currently playing, the system will still show them having an account in good standing. It's falsely bloating the numbers. They can give everyone the next year free and say that they never lost any subs, but are they really making any money off of them?

Most of the people I know of personally and read about on various forums are cancelled - some of them may still have time left on their account, but they have moved on to other things.

Why is it so hard for fans of the game to admit the facts? It's not a personal insult to you. Heck - most people like being the few that are 'into' something that not a lot of people enjoy. Why would you take it as a personal insult that so many people are leaving the game you like? We're not saying that you're not good people or smart or anything... just the facts - more people are leaving everyday than are joining. SW is losing players and even this financial report doesn't try to gloss it over.

Financial report -"Things aren't looking good - here are the numbers."
Forum poster - "Look at these numbers! Things are wonderful and successful!"

Are we looking at the same things here, people?

'Through the end of the quarter, approximately 2.4 million units have sold through. In our last call we indicated that we had 1.7 million active subscribers, and as of the end of April we now have 1.3 million, with a substantial portion of the decrease due to casual and trial players cycling out of the subscriber base, driving up the overall percentage of paying subscribers.'

End of April 1.3m , that of course now includes the '30 days free'

'overall percentage of paying cusomers' is interesting, includes the 3/6 month subs who no longer play.

.... And you casuals can cycle out
