I know this much, BioWare said the combat file was intended for data analasys between fights, not realtime. If MOX is parsing realtime and tripping off some sort of 3rd party indicator, that would certainly seem to denote that program " interacts with the client to result in unintended behavior". Whether it is doing something truly impactful or not, the parser's functions are crossing some sort of line that was not intended to be crossed.

All in all, I'd put my money on the banned party to be lying, made-up or misread/misunderstood their notification.
"I really wanted to bring in the three BioWare pillars to the online space. Those are represented by story, by the player's choice in story, and by characters. Those are the three big things that I felt weren't really well represented in the MMO space." - James Ohlen

Yeah, or perhaps the original complainer that laid this one on the table just wanted to stir up some drama with misinformation. Been known to happen on these forums.

At least Bioware calls them out when it does happen.

One of our best healers was also given a one week suspension for using the MOX parser which was made by a guild on our server. He contacted the GM to ask why he was suspended, and he received about 5 lines of text. The first one being that cannot use third party software and the rest telling him that he is suspended. His suspension is over as of tomorrow, but it has caused us to be without any parsers since the event. He was not using any other programs besides Fraps to record some game footage.

Bioware, is there a parser that you can recommend or state that we will not get suspended for using? If not, could you create a parser since you have created the combat logging option and clearly intend for parsers to be used?

MOX parse is reading the combat LOG in realtime, which is being written in real time by SWTOR. It would be no different than a person opening the combat log file in notepad every couple of seconds. It does not interact with the game client in realtime in any way.

OR, you could hire competent workers to investigate before doing things, our guild had its name changed unjustly and it took a BBB report and a month and a half to fix it. might want to adjust your workers and or policies

You are off-topic, unless your whole guild was also banned for using 3rd party client interacting cheat hacks. Surely there are better places to vent and rant....no need to hijack a thread.

the game state is stored in memory in the computer, which is available to being read by 3rd party programs....

google chrome and firefox allow you to read the internal memory state of the SWTOR game in realtime and made adjustments?

I think you're mistaken. I'm pretty sure that you need to be using a much more specialized 3rd party app to do that, and that if they mange to catch you doing so, you'll get banned or suspended.
