ok dont get me wrong

theres some aspects of swtor i do enjoy.but theres also some that need work, and i doubt that will ever happen.mainly the way bioware balances classes, and the fact world pvp pretty much is dead(even though theres no actual world pvp in gw2)

I thoroughly enjoyed both the pvp and pve in GW2 this weekend. Having 100+ people in one spot fighting with no lag was pretty nice. Brought back a lot of Daoc memories and I'll say this, they've taken a lot from both Daoc/Warhammer it seems which is fine. If you don't wanna stay with the zerg, it's easy to roll around with gank groups or just run around solo picking people off. Combat system is pretty cool as well once you get used to the mechanics of swapping weapons. Has a bit of a learning curve to understand how traits and stuff work, but once you get a grasp on it, the skys the limit on how you wanna customize your play.

Over-all, probably the best beta from any mmo I've gone through pvp wise. Star Wars doesn't stand a chance on retaining anyone that actually wants some "serious pvp" instead of the joke of what 1.2 became.

The game is $20 (actually $25 if you do the math) if you like buying your games from "newproductsforyou". If, like most people, you buy from a reputable source, it's still $49.99.

Also, there is no free game time. There was a 30-day reward for loyal players and there are free, limited-period trials. Apart from that the subscription price is the same as it always has been.

I agree it is just another sword and board. Nothing special about it seen the same thing in 20 other games. Guess now everyone will be saying TERA is the next thing since sliced bread. GW2 the bubble has burst.

Dang, and here I was thinking that I could buy the game for $20 and that Bioware gave away free gametime already. Pesky facts!

My DAoC guild played the GW2 Beta all weekend, its the closest any MMo has ever gotten to matching DAoC in terms of total RvR/PvP Awesomeness

You can fight in the 200vs 200 battles and ram down castle gates while casters and archers are shooting down at you ,(and your shooting up at them on the castle walls).....take towers, keeps, supply deposts...its total war with a S**load of people

Oh you say you dont want to fight in a 200vs200 battle?...well thats Ok, becauseGuild Wars 2 also has 1vs1, 2vs2, 3vs3, 4vs4,5vs5,6vs6,7vs7,8vs8,9v9,10vs10 Strcutered PvP (aka ranked warzones)

Any serious gamer PvP'r will be playing GW2, and with the HUGE 200vs200 battles offerred also, I see alot of Casual pvp gamers playing GW2 also

SWtoR has 2 months remaining for PvP

It is also very misleading what he says since only one company lists it for $20 and I doubt you get a code to activate so you may as well flush the same money down the toilet. The game from Origin or any reputable dealer is 34.99 and that deal ends May 6th. The DDE is $45 and CE is $150.

You guys keep posting on how their WvW pvp is Player Vs Door... have you actually played the game?

WvW is more of a sandbox style of pvp -- but done correctly. You have Defenses (like walls/doors, keeps, and castles) Siege Weapons (arrow carts, ballistas, catapults, golems, trebuchets, cannons, mortaers, boiling pots of oil) Enemy Players, Supply Routs (to construct siege weapons, maintain defense, purchase upgrades) and the Orb of Power (protected by a strong raid boss that grants a boon when brought to a specific locaiton).

And if that's not enough to keep you busy/entertained there are SERVER WIDE incentives for winning -- IE health/crafting/gathering boosts.

This is ontop of the "Traditional" type of warzone/battleground -- of course they've added more flavor with:

Pickup Tournaments: These single-elimination tournaments wait for 8 teams to join before starting. Once they start, they go through 3 rounds of eliminations, with winners receiving qualifier points.
Monthly Tournaments: For monthly tournaments, you'll need a certain amount of qualifier points to join.
Yearly Tournaments: These grand tournaments feature the winners from the monthly tournaments slugging it out for the right to call themselves the best PvP players of the year.
Player-Run Tournaments: These tournaments will be customized by players, allowing for great flexibility and unique bragging rights.

You guys really look dumb when you come here saying it's "Player vs. Door" and that it will get boring in a month.
