A faulty argument. Those in rated teams are invested in their play style. If they're currently not good enough to overcome top contenders they get better. You're attempting to apply WoW's concept of rated PvP to to all games, but there are reasons why WoW's implementation has been widely criticized and is generally not viewed as a true rated system. There are many other alternative and more popular system utilized in the industry, and Bioware could just as easily adopt one of them for SWTOR.

That said, I did state there are reasons why cross-server Warzones may prove a boon for rated play. It simply would not be beneficial for casual Warzones, though.
No it's not faulty at all, I like arena, But i don't want to get my face smashed in all day when the only team to match with is a team that way way way better them mine and dropping my rating.

People want good matches where they have a chance, You can do this with a big pool of teams, You can't with a small pool.

So if I am rated at 1500 hundered I want other teams arouind that level. Not a 24000 ranked team

So read his post about how he said 'cross server for ranked only'.

Edit: The fact that you immediately go defensive and say 'it's not faulty at all' makes me value your opinion less because it makes you seem less interested in constructive discussion and more interested in feeding your ego/view. Sayin.

it applies to anything, Why only use it for ranked??? It works to improve that so we will just forget about it other places.

The same reason it's important for rated applies to anything else.

What makes you think SWTOR's rated PvP will be similar to WoW's Arena system? There are many alternative models, several of which work much, much better.

But it doesn't work for everything.

Like what??? People want to Queue and get matched with a team thats going to be a decent fight for them.

Then if the win, get harder teams, if they lose get easier teams.

Lets not over state something.....they lost a little under 2 million. Not millions. :P And to say they are still losing subs is speculation. We will not know for sure until they release the next quarter sub numbers. And for anyone to suggest they lost the subs they did because of the cross server LFG tool is really just expressing a personal hatred for the tool rather than from facts. Blizzard must not think it has. They are expanding it even more in thier next expansion.

While BW probably won't ignore their customers who are largely migrated from WoW, I sincerely hope this game takes its own course and aims for something.. more.

Know this, BW; the old formula is old and the gaming community craves innovation. Don't mistake gamer's plea for convenience and popular features for being pleas for unoriginal game design.

Totally disagree with the OP's statement.

I want this game to be exactly like WoW. In fact, I'd like to be able to transfer over my lvl 80 Night Elf Hunter off Blizzard's Elune server onto the Sith Wyrm server here at TOR. How cool that would be! And wouldn't it be sweet to have your Sith Juggernaut strut through Stormwind on a Saturday night?

I should have went into game concept development rather than accounting.

Let me say right now...PLEASE DONT allow these players to influence you to turn this game into a clone of wow!!!

A lot of this (if not ALL) is coming from people who played wow for the last 5 years and have gotten used it,and now want to drag that junk into this game. Most of us who also played wow LEFT it in order to get AWAY FROM a lot of the foolishness that was going on there.Im seeing people in SWTOR asking for damage meters,"item level" or "gear score" indicators, and all that junk which over time just made wow more of a job to play than a game.

SWTOR is a brand new game with a great future ahead of it.Dont let these people cause you to ruin that by crying for stuff to be added to it from a game that now sees panda`s as it own bright shiny future....

The day i log into SWTOR and see someone in chat saying "LFM Foundry +350 IL req or no invite pst" is the day i cancel my SWTOR subscription....and believe me,there are people out there who are asking for exactly that.

If you want stuff that was in wow...then go play wow....dont bring that DISEASE over to SWTOR.

+1

You only forget the LFG crap because those spoiled folks only want to push a button all the time.
Next thing they want...fly speeders, portals everywhere, all epics handed over on a plate.

I agree. WOW is old. Now it's SWTOR time to define the MMORPG genre.
