All I'm getting from the first post, is the reason for the SWTOR hate is that GW2 is over hyped, the forums are worse and the game sucks.

Phew, good job its nothing to do with poor performance, lack of open world PvP, dead servers, nothing to do at 50, linear gameplay, boring non-story quest etc etc or I'd be really worried,

They recently decided that there will be official forums, and that they will be heavily moderated.

Exactly what I am worried about, you saw what NCSoft did to Aion.

Pray NCSoft doesn't take the command over ArenaNet, or the game will be dead the day after.

I conceded a point, catch up.

Again, why is SWTOR an exception compared to all the other modern MMOs out there in the market?

I seriously doubt SWTOR demands higher bandwidth than all other games and therefore it's causing performance issues.

So what am I supposed to do to run a Direct 9x game PROPERLY in World PVP.

100/100 internet connection with a super-speedy ISP?

It doesn't sound right.

ROTFLMAO

if the beta forums are any indication of their heavy moderation they are in the business of lying.

Think I'll chime in here on the FPS issue. Firstly I run a 2 year old high end and I have no problems.

What I will say is that the ISP throttle different types of transfer. When I was playing LOTRO a few of my guild were with a uk ISP called Tiscali, they were getting such bad connection issues that even chat wouldn't work. They would be using the same level of PC as the rest of us. They would also get good results on speed tests and no problems with Youtube streaming, it was just LOTRO...also other MMO's worked fine.

It turned out that Tiscali throttled P2P networks and it just so happened that LOTRO used a P2P network to transfer it's data. They all moved ISPs and had no problems at all.

Now I'm not saying this is what's happening with TOR but it might be worth looking into if you are having problems.

A far better worded version of my own point, this.

Oh wow. That's a "recent" change in business strategy. Wondered what prompted them to go that route. Even Pardo was praising them last year for doing it and claimed if he had to do it all over again he'd have not gone for forums with Blizzard.

Well, good luck to them with that. Think they are going to have their original thoughts very much confirmed.
