i think it would be cool if you could have an apprentice or be granted master status

Jedi? You reach Master Status and get a padawan on either class.

Sith? You get an apprentice and reach the highest echelons of Sith society (Darth) on both Warrior and Inquisitor.

Either you haven't gotten very far or you haven't played a force user class.
Its all the force's fault.

Corso is my sidekick..or more specifically that little monkey you dress up in a tux and sit in a corner to look interesting but in reality doesn't really do anything.

Well in the OP's context its clear to me he is talking about Force Users. If you want to go into it about non-force users you might say a protege or subordinate trainee etc.

None of them stack up to the relationship (in my opinion of course) that you get being a Master to a Padawan, Master to Apprentice force user dialogue receives.

Yeah, every class has an apprentice at least for a while;

Sith Warrior: Jaesa Wilsaam
Sith Inquisitor: Ashara AND Xalek
Jedi Consular: Nadia Grell
Jedi Knight: Kira Carsen... Sort of. She's technically your apprentice for Chapter 1, but she's also Master Kiwiik's apprentice, and the latter is the one who did all the training.

Nadia and Xalek do for sure. You even discuss codes with them. Relationship as deep (or as shallow) as romances in the game.
