Then we have dailies, your telling me in all that time with dailies positioned so imps and pubs would bump heads they never say an infected player of the opposite faction flagged.

I think you guys got ran over and are sore about it.
Just to throw water on your theory. I personally got flagged earlier in the week by this glitch and so I prepared by vaccinating myself before I approached the vendor. I didn't have any problems.

That is beside the point though.

1) I am repub
2) I'm also an a mellow European RP-server, so as far as I know we had no major incidents (though the empire tried camping it the first day).

And you are wrong. Getting infected with the plague didn't flag you. It only flagged you if you were infected when someone of the opposing faction died from the plague in your immediate vicinity. Players on a PvE server who don't PvP don't spend much time standing near players of the opposing faction and thus would not have encountered this bug.
Probably to allow retailiation if you didn't want to be infected. Still, vaccine = immunity and you have no legs.

Being infected did not flag you. I'm sure you don't know this because you aren't on a PvE server. You were only flagged when someone from the opposing faction exploded next to you. On a PvE server, those who don't PvP don't see the opposing faction that often, so many wouldn't have run into this before tonight.

There are bugs that have been around since the game was released five months ago that still haven't been fixed. The fact that they didn't fix the bug during the TWO downtimes (not many many) during the event does not mean it wasn't a bug. This goes against the entire concept of a PvE server.

Once again. It is a glitch because this type of thing isn't supposed to occur on a PVE server according to Bioware. They didn't fix the glitch because they probably lacked the technical ability given the limited duration of the event.

Also, please understand that most of the people complaining about this glitch being exploited actually loved the event. I know me and my friends loved it and enjoyed every minute of it including some of the open world pvp. We just don't think people should exploit a mechanic that forces a player to become flagged for PVP on a server that isn't supposed to allow that.

Player vs. Environment (PvE) - In Star Wars™: The Old Republic™, Player vs. Environment servers serve as the "default." On these servers, you have the option to role-play as your character, and player- vs.- player fights must be agreed to by both sides.

If one side is being flagged and forced to engage in PVP against their will it isn't working as intended per that description.

Also, being infected doesn't flag you. Being infected by a member of the opposite faction does flag you. The reason many people didn't know that is they hadn't stood next to someone from the opposite faction when they exploded and learned the hard way. I don't see why that's difficult to believe. I think perhaps you play on a PVP server and don't understand the problem at hand. That's why you mistakenly believe that simply being infected flags you for PVP when it does not.
This was a special event. Post something that says the plague wasn't working as intended. That's all I want to see and all it'll take for me to agree. PVE or not you can't always expect to be safe in a war themed game.

Pretty much the same as everyone else. I went up to the Vendor to buy some items (lvl 39) and saw about 5 -7 Republic people there but figured they would keep the peace. They attacked and I died. Figured it was a mistake. Died again. Third chance and then I went and got my 50. By that time there was around a half a dozen pissed off Emperial buddies who were also out for vengeance. We took the Vendor and kept it for a while. I then saw a lvl 19 Republic guy and told the Emperial guys to let him get his stuff. Turns out the Republic had amassed a pretty large group and stealth grouped into our midst behind the lvl 19. Pretty damn sneaky.
We ended up getting an Ops group of about 22 + or -1 Emperials and retook the Vendor. After that there wasn't a Republic character allowed to come within spitting distance of the Vendor.
Up to about the last 4 hours before the Server went down there wasn't any cross faction fighting. It was very polite on both sides. In fact I helped a few Republic with that one guy at the Ship and a few did the same for my Agent. I haven't seen anything that could be considered Griefing on the PvP server that I am on. Everybody is pretty polite and helpful.

On a PvE server, you have to agree to PvP. When you go into PvP areas, you get a big warning and a 10 second countdown that you will be flagged if you don't turn back. Flagging someone against their will goes against the very concept of a PvE server. Word eventually got out on the general chat, but not before quite a few people were flagged against their will. Again, this isn't a new concept. This kind of thing can get you banned in an MMO.
You keep saying many people but I only see about 4 complaints, when the servers come back up tell your server to post in this thread on how they didn't know. I only hope honest people post, ty.

The terms of service on a PvE server label this as a glitch. FYI, there was a similar glitch months ago where people could be involuntarily flagged on a PvE server. It was eventually fixed, and I believe action was taken against some of those who exploited it.
