I'd suggest taking a look at the popular wow addons: auctioneer and auctionator for a couple of neat improvements. Definitely need to fix the current ah system. It's horrid.

Basically EVERYTHING everyone says I agree with.

We all know what's needed it's common sense to everyone who has experience of MMOs.

Why the devs spent no time on this crucial aspect of the game is beyond any understanding!

Please please fix this as a priority - I avoid the market right now becuase its just such a pain the *** to use.

I am sure its somewhere in the 16 pages but it was not added to the front page... Id love a unit price option, and the ability to arrange by it. click and bam, this is the lowest price irregardless of stack size

Just cancelled. It's a fantastic game, but this annoys me to no end. Told them I would come back when it's fixed. Shouldn't take 5 minutes to search for a price on a piece of cloth. It's ridiculous. 7 more days of play time left and then I'm outta here for awhile. Back to ugly old WOW with the awesome AH for a few more months.

Without Auctioneer, WoW's isn't much better. For a non-addon system LOTRO has a good one. REALLY needs a robust search function.
Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

They improved the AH in WoW in the later patches. So its very usable even without the auctoneer addon. And still, even the AH in WoW 1.0 was ten times better than the GTN we have in SWTOR.

I agree with most of what's being said in this thread.

I spend the majority of my time using the GTN and crafting. That is my main source of enjoyment from the game. (Note: I do like the stories when I am questing though.) However these things NEED to be fixed.

Being able to search the GTN using just a text filter is a must. And being able to easily search the GTN for the item you are trying to sell.

I understand trying to keep the market manageable, but having a 2 two day limit for an item and a 50 slot limit is overkill. One or the other should work. Or at least bump the limit to 200.

50 slots doesn't even allow me to post everything I'm crafting let along play the market, so I end up doing a little bit of both. Though I'd really like to be able to craft as much as I want to without filling up my bags (since I have no more room on the GTN). I'm not even posting multiples, all the crafted items are unique since with synthweaving I'm able to create a large array of different items (7 armor slots for different levels across three different weight classes). And I even price my wears to sell, so I'm constantly moving items, but I still run into the 50 slot limit constantly.

Crafting is an extremely costly endeavor in SWTOR as it is, we don't need the GTN restrictions hurting our ability to recoup our costs - let along make a profit. Geez.

Also, why is this thread not getting any dev love??

while some of the ideas that have been suggested are good ... there are some that could wait. Most important would be those that seem to restrict proper searchs for items that player are trying to purchase.

ALSO: anyone tried to review items you need for your companion? As long as the companion that is needing gear has been summonsed and the appropriate tab showing to display the charactor sheet, it would be of HUGE help to be able to "mouse over" the items and see the same sort of "spec analysis" that is shown when we are looking at items of interest.

This helps EVERYONE ... and obviously save tons of time !

Yeah, the AH definitely needs fixing, it's making me a little insane (being a player who likes to make credits so I can buy gear/pets/etc). Even if they changed just ONE thing - the option to search for exactly what you're looking for by name without having to slog through the categories and trying to guess the category of what you're trying to find - would be a huge help.

For a new game, it takes a lot of guess work to find what category your item belongs to. It's to the point where I just guess what category my purple "alien blood sample" goes in (I thought it would be one of the bio-professions, but it's not listed there), yet it's not there, so I posted it for an outlandish amount with the hopes it would sell (it didn't). If we had an opportunity to search for the item by name and see what other people were selling it for, at least we'd have an idea what the price range is.

I really hope BioWare changes this. It's making such a simple task a pain in-game.
