I have no clue, not the slightest why you people compare Star Wars: The Old Republic with games that have a such a huge diffrence in life spam towards it, World of Warcraft have been out since I don't know, 7 years no if you include Beta? 4 Expansions and about 0.1-7.1 Patches And you compare?! You people aint that bright are you?
The game is Star Wars: The Old Republic nothing else, That alone is all that you can discouss about, you can't compare it towards anything else It's like I go down town and by a bun, thats 7 years old and I dislike/like the taste of it, then I buy one thats 6 months old and I dislike/like it more, See where i'm going with it?

Noone here have any idea what the "Subscriber" amount is, noone does only Bioware knows that, why argue?

The allure of mystery........ look at Yoda.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

I know a man (or woman) killed Kennedy, it might have been a well-trained monkey though.

Also, there is a high possibility there is life on other planets considering the scale of the universe, though I am not 100% sure yet because I have not seen any proof of it yet. (that point was actually really funny because you are the one who said that you know for a fact SWTOR will never sell 6 million copies despite it being a very high possibility instead of a fixed and prooven fact)

My answer is a definitive no. I just cancelled my sub. Here is the long post about why. I expect a forum mod to delete it because it is critical of Bioware.

I am also canceling because of Customer Service Issues. Your Customer Service is the worst I have ever experienced from any computer/tech related company. That includes notoriously bad companies like NVidia and Creative Labs.

I am also leaving because of Social Issues. Your forum mods delete any posts negative about your game. If you can't take criticism they don't have forums. Also your rabid fanbois are just plain driving people away. They aren't that different from the forum moderators in their blind and fanatical intolerance of any critical comments about the game.

I'm also leaving to Play Another Game. A number of FTP MMOs have better endgame content and are less buggy than SWTOR. DC Universe Online has pratically the same endgame content as SWTOR and is FTP. I know, I got a character up to cap on DCUO and then quit because endgame only involved daily/weekly mission grinding. I expect PTP games to have better endgame content. My money should be going toward something. Also with upcomming MMOs on the way, sticking with a poorly designed and executed MMO doesn't make sense. TERA, Diablo3, Guild Wars 2 are all coming out soon. One can only hope that they are better executed than SWTOR. Given how poor a job you have done, probability states that they will go smoother.

Mainly I'm leaving for game issues. One of the primary reasons was that your Game does not run on my computer / poor performance. Your game crashed often enough to cause significant errors in my PC requiring it to be sent into a repair shop. Your customer service about how to improve the performance of your game has been flat out terrible. Very often it has appeared that your Customer Service rep hasn't even read my ticket. And the bugs? Where to start? Patcher problems, sound bugs, crashes while just moving around, crashes while loading another area, crashes during cutscenes, graphical problems during cutscenes (skin problems, eye problems [both all black eyes and sunken silvery pupils]), floors visible but not functioning so I fall through sometimes to my death, gathering nodes visible but not harvestable, Companion bugs, targeting bugs, cannot see target bugs, mobs reseting themselves for no reason midcombat, quest bugs galore, and worst of all I know that I'm forgetting many more bugs.

I have also had connection problems. Given that when I started playing not long after launch, my connection speed was just fine and that after many of your patches both my fps rate and lag were just terrible, tells me that it was changes you made that were causing the problem.

I also do not enjoy PVP. The changes you made in patch 1.2 were extremely disappointing and problematic. Many were also very poorly thought out. Class balance and TTK are extremely frustrating right now. This has been my experience in playing from level 10-49. I can only imagine how bad it has been for the level 50 players where the sheer volume of threads tells quite a tale. Also the fact that endgame PVP content is exactly the same as pre-endgame content is disappointing. There should be something new for endgame PVPers to look forward to. If ranked WZ matches were supposed to be that, well you rather cowardly notified people last minute that you wouldn't include it in patch 1.2 so they wouldn't have the chance to cancel their subs before they realized you couldn't implement a much anticipated feature. I don't mind that you couldn't implement it during 1.2. I mind that you removed it from the patch only a day or so before. You must have known that it wouldn't be ready well before that point but chose to release that information at a time beneficial for you and denying important information from your customers so they could make an informed choice.

I also feel the is imbalanced. Crew skills are a joke and serve no purpose after reaching level 50. The Reverse Engineering rate is still broken even though you claim it was fixed after patch 1.2. The added crafting recipes might be nice if the set bonuses were work as they were supposed to and we could remove them from our Battlemaster, War Hero, etc. gear without causing problems. Companions are also a problem. Tank companions are useless post 30. You need to gear them better than the main character. When leveling my Jedi Sage healer I thought I was the companion sometimes. All I did was heal my Companion because it was taking damage so quickly and it was gear up to date. When most classes acquire companions is terrible. Many classes have to wait until they are 20+ or sometimes 30+ before they have the choice for another companion. The healer companions take even longer to acquire sometimes. Bounty Hunter has an incredibly unfair advantage because their first companion is a healer. My Sniper had to wait until Alderaan before having any choice about a companion (ship droids do not count, more on that later), and my choices were either Kaliyo (ranged tank) or Vector (melee DPS). As a Sniper (ranged DPS in case you forgot), what I really wanted was a healer, but I had to wait until after I finished Taris to get one. The ship droids, where to start? At least they are not as chatty now. I wanted to jettison it out my airlock so it would SHUT UP. The weapon still doesn't work? Or did you intend for ship droids to never use a weapon. That would make them useless as companions because even healer companions add some damage and that is useful. If you didn't want them to use a weapon, then you shouldn't have coded them to attack. Really you should have had an option to complete turn off ship droid messages.

This is not my first MMO. I have been playing MMOs since Everquest. I have played Everquest, Final Fantasy 11, 9 Dragons, Final Fantasy 14, Eternal Eden, Champions Online, DC Universe Online, City of Heroes/Villians, Star Trek Online.
I don't mind paying a subscription as long as I feel that my money is going toward something worth the fee.

The Dev Team seems to have to comprehensive overall vision of where they want to take the game. It all seems to be "well let's try it and see if it works!" thinking. How else would you explain patching multiple times in a week? You have a weekly patch on Tuesday. Unless it is a game killer of a bug, you should hold it off until the next weekly maintenance. The fact that you finally admitted that the increased downtime cause by the frequent patches was problematic was good. The fact that you did it in April was not. You had several instances where you did the same thing less than a month after launch and did nothing about the complaints at that point. I can only guess that you finally realized that your customers were leaving because of your poor attitude toward them.

Then there were the changes to PVP WZ rewards and then the rapid retraction. Didn't you test the changes? Didn't you think "this might not be popular?" Didn't you ask players? Or did you only ask fanbois who are little better than yes men and worship anything you do?

And how about the removal of Sacrifice and Unity? Now their removal in and of itself is not necessarily bad. Both make sense as Legacy abilities for Dark side and Light side. However you didn't give anything in return. You didn't think anyone would notice that you removed something and didn't give anything in return? You didn't think that people would be upset by the loss of an ability? This indicates a lack of planning and poor regard for your players/customers.

All your free stuff just comes across as a desperation ploy. "Give us time to implement stuff for you to do!" You didn't think that level 50 characters would be bored from the exact same content after 4 months? Because that was clearly what your first free 30 days offer was clearly targeting. It was only for level 50 players. That meant that you wanted people with those characters to give you time to implement stuff for them to do.

As one of the players who live outside your "official" areas, I certainly feel marginalized and mistreated. I live in Japan. I was excited when I learned of APAC transfers. When I learned from CS that I didn't qualify, I almost quit. I had wasted 3 months of time. All the hard work I had put into leveling up a Sage to 50, Commando, Scoundrel, and Guardian would be wasted. There was no point waiting to see if you would ever show mercy on me. I wanted to play on a server with people who played at the same time I did. I wanted to do Heroic 4 missions and do flashpoints. I understand that maintenance times are done to minimize impact on US players, but speaking as someone who lives in APAC each patch makes me lose a day of primetime playing. As an adult with a full time job, I can only play after I come home from work. I'm losing 1/7th of my playing time, more if you patch multiple times a week as you have been known to do.

After how I have been treated, I will no longer be buying games from Bioware or EA. I will advise my gamer friends to do the same. Companies like yours need to learn to respect and value their customers not just treat them like an income source.

No, it cannot be saved- EA and the forum moderators are all tools- they chase the $$$ and ignore the fans- they shove posts into obscure posts that noone reads- THEY JUST DONT CARE!

I came back and nothings changed(apart form some bugs and ability delay) that's it- you still have other bugs like getting booted off the balloon getting the datacon - and there is still NO social aspect to this game!

IT cannot be saved! they dropped the ball and let it go down the gutter and then a storm wased it away never to be retrieved!
Huh?

Don't see why they'd delete it, as it's in line with the thread, but have to admit it was a huge wall of text to read and not many will bother.

Your argument does appear to be based on circumstantial evidence, unless you can provide proof that most subscribers share your griefs, so it's a sound explanation of why you won't continue a subscription but it lacks evidence as to why the game overall is doomed.

For example, I and many others like it despite its shortcomings, and many of us just like playing in the Star Wars universe and have little to no interest in playing in LoTR/D&D settings. But to each his own.

Even then BioWare only knows the ammount of people who paid. Some people don't unsub when they stop playing, or have no clue how to. (which is silly but it's not very uncommon)

Paid subsciptions tells us nothing about active players.

And no one has any clue (except BW) how many are active.

LOL. YOu have no idea what you are talking about, nor do any of the other arm chair business moguls spouting their expert advice. The assumptions, logical fallacies and misinformation in this thread would be sufficient to start an entire new genre of "clue" type games.

btw, my entire guild moved here from wow....and are enjoying it.
