Look at the server list, everything is light. Standard for an hour or 2 if you are lucky. If the game isnt dying, The game NPCs are being counted as players.

Already been covered that torstatus does not show number of subs, only concurrent playtime. Which has dropped off. Which is normal for every single MMO every launched.
WHy does anyone care about subs? All that matters is how many people are playing. I have a sub but I dont play because this game is worse than a job after you have leveled once (really they send you to the same planets for all characters - so linear. At least in wow they let you play 5 different planets when level 10-20!). This is dying hahahhahaha. Face the FACTS. Less people play every single day. A dead game in the making. And yes mmorgs die out. But not this fast. And none of the competition has even been released yet lmao!

Things will get EVEN WORSE when some other mmorgs get released

I don't see much here to really discuss. They had a large number of pre orders for people buying into the hype (like most games). Many of those people found out there is nothing special or unique here and moved on. All you need to do in order to see this for yourself is look at the giant screen o servers during log in and note how most of them say "light" under the population column. A couple months ago that same server list had the majority showing "heavy" and it was in RED I believe. Sadly we may not be able to verify that color until they merge servers.

GW2 has a dungeon finder tool already.

TSW is an EA title anyway so they simply get my money from another source. I'll happily resubscribe when TOR has evolved to something more SWG like. If it doesn't then I'll still have TSW and GW2.
Agreed, but you are wrong about one thing: The Secret World is a Funcom title, not a E.A. title. The Secret World is going to be excellent though . Unfortunately, I won't be trying GW2 because it will over-extend my mmorpg limit, since I'll only be playing TSW and SWTOR. I heard good things about GW2, feel like I'm missing out or will miss out, but I already made my choice. On the matter of Vivendi/Activision-Blizzard games, f#$k WoW because it's highly overrated.

And @ the OP; s. t . f . u & g f t o, it's way too early to be seriously judging SWTOR. E.A. doesn't actually lie about their games like Blizzard does. As of now, the subscription number for SWTOR is above average and more than sufficient enough to keep it alive for years to come.

Claiming that people that play PvP is just 1% of your customer base is foolish.

Again we're back to the point that (many) more people PvP on the internet than the do PvE.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

Ding ding ding. This guy also understands the reality of things.
Subs are what matters for EA and BW's pocket money.
Concurrent activity is what matters for players spending the money.

If you're EA or BW, their definition of decline is when people don't pay.
If you're a player, the general definition of decline is when other players don't play.
Outnumbered on all sides. Inferior version of "mirrored" abilities. Republic players are the real underdogs playing the game on hard mode. Show pride in your tenacity.

I think it is hard to achieve anything like that with a 2 factional system as having it both be meaningful and balanced with 2 factions where 1 will always have a slight to large advantage over the other is a tall order.
At the time they would have been designing Ilum Bioware were running 1.3.6 WAR, which had the closest thing to a balance system for 2 faction RvR I've ever seen (and I suspect has ever existed)..... it's just another lesson they didn't take from WAR.

This is one time where BioWare should have actually realized that what the community wanted was not in their own best interest, ignore them, and just do what they do best.
Maybe, but I don't see how the community could have made it so bad.

The geography shows no knowledge of an RvR zone, or the complexities of RvR combat, the node idea shows no knowledge (or thought) about how RvR works and the lack of system behind anything (RvR-wise) is just unexplainable.

After doing the beta for those two games I can say outright that Diablo 3 will be great for TOR as I think the folks over on /v/ found their new target. Believe me I heard some people scream about the game in the beta, and if you are a PvPer remember that D3 has no PvP in at launch. As for Tera yes it's nice to look at and yes the combat was kinda fun. Outside of the combat and how it looked? It was *gasp* another WoW clone. More so then that I'm getting the Age of Conan feeling from the game, ya know if I go off to do a Raid or PvP I'm going to have to set everything to low.

Now I can't say anything about Secret World or Guild Wars 2 but well yeah... I don't think Tera or D3 are going to be the game killers everyone thinks they will be.
I'm a fan of this game, it's a good game. Perhaps I was lucky in my choice of 2 servers but I've never had any issues. However, since you bring TERA up . . . in the earlier incarnation of this thread I had said some unkind things about that game without having tried it first hand. As the poster I responded to suggested I tried the open beta. I would like to retract those earlier statements. Yea, I'm eating my hat at the moment. Just like SWTORs stories and depth are solid and fun, the engaging combat, graphics and smooth performance of that game I belittled is equally solid and fun.

This one is a bit more in depth.

This seems to be more focused on the stock from EA and seems to lean both ways.

It seems EA have had a poor financial year due to BF3 and SWTOR.

I have found this on several other sites, it seems to be reliable.

I don't want to start a flame war or an "I told you so" thread. Instead, I was wondering what people would like to see to maybe improve the player base.
I am one of the people that is on the fence, I have around 90 days or so left on my sub but am, as of yet, not convinced to renew it.
Following the new "world event" (which I though was good mostly) maybe this is the way forward?
So lets hear it, what would it take (for those that aren't sure or maybe have already cancelled) to bring you back?
For those that are already commited, what more things would you like improved or added?

Lets try and keep it on track and pleasant ok?

Ok, weigh in.
Since I don't feel like going through sixty-some odd pages here, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this anyhow, with the full knowledge that it's probably already been posted:

This game has been out less than six months. There are the casuals who come in, make a character, don't feel that they're doing very well, and leave.

A LOT of us are Star Wars fans, and that is what first attracted us to this game. For the Star Wars fans who were expecting something different than what this game has to offer, they probably left too in disappointment.

Give it some time. They are already starting to improve with Legacy, and I for one am having a blast with it. Most MMOs go through this early on, so it's nothing to panic about.
