I read nothing in this thread except the first sentence of the title. The End of the Argument? On the internet? Not even remotely possible.

I disagree.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

Well I will do this OT for you, as dedicated BF series fan. Got BF3 for PS3 and PC (with expansions both). BF3 was huge financial succes there's no doubt to it. Due to just great marketing (remember Caspian Border trailer? I could have it looped all day - that awesome he was) mostly. Many thought it will be successor to greatest Battlefield of all time, BF2. But no. While BF3 was deffinitely fun game, aside from just tons of bugs that weren't fixed even today it was just step backward in overall BF series. Bad Company was considered as console series - 1st BF with something like true, scripted campaign involved with a bit of freedom. The best feature of BC series? Yes you're right - destructible environment. BF3 was step back in this case - sure it was because of how game was handled (more urban maps so if there were destructible objects after 15 minutes people would run on a flat surface after destroyed buildings). Yet BF never meant to be infantry game - this was reserved for MoH and CoD series. (by the way now they're introducing Close Quarters DLC - which is terrible, believe me I can give you this on paper without even looking at the game, because of the game's engine and it lacks since BF2 in terms of colision objects - it's stylized for CoD fast paced gameplay, but in reality it's just sluggish) Furthermore BF3 was like a mix of MoH and a bit of BC. BF2 however possessed all that stuff (well, less weapons but what's the diffrence when people run with 2 diffrent setups only anyway?) + got one, big awesome expansion that refreshed gameplay and add alot of content and possibilies to it. Special forces. I will not list every of awesome things this expansion had, just gogle it - it was far extending possibilities of fun in BF2. Because of that all it feels like a step back for all BF and fail overal. Yet we play it because there's no alternative. Also unlocks come so fast just like in CoD and there's no bunny to pursuit and it becomes less and less fun really fast. Getting max rank in BF2 was countless hours of playing, BF3 it was like maybe week...

Sorry for wall of text, and eot - I just hope I enlightened you a bit why some players may consider BF3 as fail. Remember game fails for gamers because of how it is not how much cash it earned.

Eh, it's the current economy, not game quality. Blizzard just laid off 600. Doesn't mean their games are failing...
Allix Crowe - Vanguard Trooper -/- Ethavan Crowe - Smuggler Gunslinger -/- Malrath Crowe - Powertech Bounty Hunter -/- Boslo - Jedi Knight Sentinel -/- Jiao-gen Pall - Jedi Knight Guardian -/- Landen Tanarr - Jedi Consular Sage -/- Vaelyth Kinti-kaar- Sith Warrior Juggernaut -/- Oteln'erose'thu - Imperial Agent Sniper -/- Zandur Tuum - Cathar Knight

I'm not so sure, Blizzards WoW sub numbers are disingenuous to say the least, they use every trick in the book to padd them.

Of course. But the guy in the articel wrote its because of the bad sales of BF3 .. which is definitively wrong, because BF3 was a huge success.
