The problem with the OP's opinion is that people view games differently.

Some see the journey as the game (1-49)
Some see the destination as the game (50)
BW made a game where you have 8 character stories with 2 factions side quest. I actually watch all the video at least once and sometimes twice because it is engaging TO ME.

There are altaholic who are leveling multiple of same powerset so they have PvE and PvP type. I personally doing one of each on IMPERIAL side (basically each of the advance class) . I haven't even started on the Republic side yet.

My main being a BH, i liked Act 1, and 2 the Best, however i feel they easily could have made Act 1 be 1-50, that would have made for an EPIC feel to the tournament. The Jedi revenge was a good story arc in Act 2, but Act 3 i didnt pay much attention to. Though i did enjoy it as a whole. My 40 Sorceror story line is pretty good so far, I just finished Act 2 on it and it has been non stop so far.

I have a movie that I have watched, no lie, about thirty times in the last ten years or so. I own four different versions of it - three on DVD, and one on blu-ray. I love that movie, and could watch it again right now, still knowing almost every line by heart.

Army of Darkness is that awesome. Yes, I'm easily amused.
The average person thinks he isn't.

You might as well be insulting people who like to read novels, watch movies, or enjoy any other type of fiction where the journey is the substance rather than drawing out the ending indefinitely (for 7+ years if you play a certain MMO*).

Both spot on there - I'm an altoholic in any game that allows for it. I don't think I have even finished one game in the last 10 years - the Guild Wars main campaigns being the only exception, though I have not yet finished the EotN expansion (released in 2007), because I love to create and play characters of all main professions. At least with SWTOR, each main profession has it's own class storyline, and even within that and in the side quests, you can personalize even further with your own choices. In GW, you only had a handful of different quests based on your profession in the early going - the overall story and mechanics were identical for all.

Part of the problem here are the "special" people who feel the need to hit max level as fast as possible, and invariably end up being the ones who complain about the lack of content. Saw it constantly in GW after each campaign was released. Amazing that these people will drop $50-$60 on a game (not including sub cost), and only play to experience 10-20% of the content. All I have to saw is thank God game developers don't create games based on those players, but create them to suit the rest of us who like to explore and experience every bit of the content they put the time and effort in to create.

What is an endgame? Guild Wars had PvP, but that didn't satisfy people, so they created Hard Mode and Elite areas that are nothing but a repetitive grindfest. This appears to be the same thing players are complaining about with the Operations and HM flashpoints here as well. But what other alternative is there? Either PvP or keep adding HM/OPs which end up getting boring and repetitive anyway. There can only be so much content produced and released at a time - if you are going to skip more than half of it, then that's not really anyone's problem except your own.

Only thirty times? I must have watched Avatar at least that many the first 6 months after it hit DVD. The original Star Wars trilogy numbers in the thousands - even though it constantly pains me to see some of the changes in the SE DVD set (I'm NOT looking at you Haydenson).

My BH is just now hitting Tattooine. I'm enjoying him but I think the smuggler is a better smart-arse...a least so far. Smuggler just finished chapter one so I've yet to encounter what you referred to.

Yep. I also read books over that I've enjoyed. I try to read Lord of the Rings every couple years, and I'm on my fourth re-reading of the Harry Potter series.

.
3 hours a day is casual? Really? That sounds pretty hardcore to me.

Used to be people people would play from the time of getting off work or school 'til they had to go to bed or actually fell asleep at the keyboard (have seen that happen in EQ during raids, heh...with not-so-great results). So that's a good eight or nine hours a day. And weekends? Well, 15-16 hours per day were not unheard of.

So, by that comparison the three hours a day is pretty casual (hell, that much time used to get eaten up getting ready to raid). Not sure what the avg. MMOer puts in these days though so that all may be moot.
