I like leveling toons just fine. If you look up altoholic in the gamer dictionary you will prolly see my picture.

I don't care about end game content. Not at all. I don't rush to do it. I participate in end game with friends if thats what they want to do but, I never PUG end game content.

To me end game is about epeen ( in the most negative sense). I don't care if you have that armour set that it took you most of your gaming time to grind. If you had fun getting it then fine but, I don't care that you have it and it dosen't impress me.

I like getting to max level so that I can go back and just explore all the content and see what I missed while leveling. Meaning those side roads that seem to go nowhere, try to climb that hill just cause its there. I also like to be max level so that there are more areas of the game to RP in and not worry about the "environment".

So this game hits the mark for me. I will admit to "space bar mashing" on certain quests if I have seen them so many times that I can quote the dialogue.

So wait, it doesn't make sense to make alts and go through the hundreds of missions on all the planets over and over again with a different set of powers each time, but it makes perfect sense to reach level 50, and do the few daily missions over and over again and the handful of FP's over and over again with the exact same powerset each time? 100's of missions with different power sets <<<< dozens of missions with same powerset?

PvP is unique each time, so I am not talking about that.

Casual players may get anywhere between less than an hour to maybe two most nights of the week however that can still be considerably less.
Same for me. I'm leveling up 8 alts and my highest character is still only 42 and lowest 14, legacy level 20. Only thing I want in the game right now is good cross-server LFD so I can do normal flashpoints whenever I want like I could do in WoW. Also would be nice if BioWare added even more character slots so I could try some new ac/race/sex combinations!

It is unreasonable to expect an MMO to have enough "endgame" content at launch to satisfy everyone.

I am looking foreward to more endgame content, it is the thing I enjoy running the most, but I did not expect SWTOR to have a lot of lvl 50 content. But, they had EV and the first boss of KP, and then they finished KP in the first update (and gave us a new FP as well), and then they give us another, harder, operation (EC) along with another FP in the second update.

If you are rabid about endgame, then you need to give it some time. More will be coming, they have already said this and they have backed it up with what they have already released.

3. The casuals (the overwhelming rest)

You can't just try to please all of them in one game. Apart maybe from WoW, this path will fail in future games. Again, this is just my opinion.

It's falling apart in WoW, now, too. As the MMO playerbase grows by the leaps and bounds that it has since WoW launched, the genre is splintering.

Although, I still think it's possible to create an MMO with all the elements in it. The playerbase has the reponsibility to recognize that certain elements are in the game for certain splinters, and that if a certain element is not your forté, you really don't have to do it. You really don't. Don't like it? Don't do it. Simple as that.

And if you're a completionist, you won't mind doing it.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but Smuggler was my second-favorite. My first favorite, by far, is Bounty Hunter. That was awesome from level one clear through 50. The Smuggler storyline would have been better if Chapter 2 was more smugglery...

Count me in, too. I own movies on blu-ray. Lots of them. I own them because I like to watch them over and over again. Guess I'm easily amused.

And this is only if you wish to level every single class from 1-50 for both factions, meaning you're that diehard for a storyline.

(Based on casual players, that aren't glued to their computers 24/7 and actually listening to the story/side quests)
3-4 levels per week, with 15-20 hours playing time
3+ months per character
8 different story lines = 24 months of non-stop leveling alts
(optional leveling both sub-classes) 16 different sub-classes = 48 months

.
Good job explaining why I will keep playing this game for the next 2 years

With the legacy feature, I get the chance to role play in a way that I cannot do in other games. It is like I am writing my own story, and Bioware is providing the backdrop for it. All my toons have personalities, and they all live in the same world. In my mind, I link them all together to create one massive experience. People will get it if they did not focus on the MASSIVE in mmorpg, but also pay attention to the ROLE PLAYING GAME aspect as well.

I'm on my 3rd Republic character and 5th Empire character. Levelling through the same zones, the dialogue is different between classes even for those generic sidequests. If you slow down and let yourself enjoy it, the amount of detail put into the game is staggering. I know I won't be getting bored any time soon. At least until I've levelled all 8 classes to level 50.

Endgame is a treadmill, that is all. If you get your rocks on by small stat increases, good for you. But it's ridiculous to insult people for wanting to experience 8 unique storylines, as if that is less noble than repeatedly running the same operations, flashpoints, or warzones. You might as well be insulting people who like to read novels, watch movies, or enjoy any other type of fiction where the journey is the substance rather than drawing out the ending indefinitely (for 7+ years if you play a certain MMO*).

* While my tone is a bit rash, I do think a good end-game is important as well. WoW had an excellent end-game before Dragon Soul and it kept me playing. But that game was not enjoyable at all to level. The mere thought of making an alt makes me cringe. That's why they are handing out free level 80s to returning players, because everyone knows that the levelling process is not even remotely fun. It's not an incredible journey like SWTOR's. I feel invested in every single one of my SWTOR alts, and they all have memorable experiences. Multiply this by a thousand if you are on a roleplaying server as well.
