50 active auctions on AH limit are you kidding me?

I don't see what the ridiculous hate is all about. If he wants to put up more than 50 items, let him. The auction house fee is what (should) limit the number of items he can put up for auction. If he wants to put up a 100000000 items, fine. Let him. If he can afford the fees.

To all the arguments against the 50 cap, you can't tell us what will or won't sell. For all we know the people on his server want to buy vendor trash. If so, let them. It's a free market. Not some kind of socialist state putting artificial caps on what people can or cant sell.

But really, I think bioware should fix the auction house UI first. It's just very unfriendly.

The biggest problem IMO is that a very large number of MMO gamers have very few other reference points that WoW, therefore they see it as the 'god' of all MMOs and if something does things a little different they must be wrong!

There is also a very real opportunity for 'AH Heroes' (not sure if I really like that term lol) to ruin an economy. People that buy up assets with the sole intent of pushing the price up. Not everyone works to bring prices down you know , if they did all prices would almost always be at rock bottom.
Anyone can, in the short term, buyout a certain good and jack up the prices. There is no stopping this. But in the long run these prices will go down given enough volume. Bioware is limiting the volume by limiting the number of auctions so drastically.

Right, by buying all the listed items at reasonable prices and jacking the price up for profit. Gee, thanks. What would we ever do without the auction house heroes?

Ok, I'm going to break one of my rules and post before reading the whole thread. This thread is so full of forum rancors and fanbois it's sad.

OP: /agree

I suspect it's because they have such a huge issue with their GTN database. They had to completely remove search for the majority of beta because it gave their server-gerbils heart attacks. Now that they've put it back in, they had to remove the GTN from most planets and stuck search in after at least 2 filters.

I also suspect that this is why they put a 25 mission limit on the mission log (this was added at the same time as the GTN search was put back in, after all).

They seem to have database issues all over, even the forums. (Tons of database errors, super-weak load management. . . have you ever seen a "waiting room" from a professional site before? I haven't.)
I'm not a hater, I'm a disillusioned and disappointed fan.
"I spent a good 5 or 10 minutes searching around the preferences because I was sure a feature like this would not have been omitted."- A simple quote that I have seen countless times; This is what is wrong with TOR in my book.

This actually helps the economy in the long run, because the people that list high are easily undercut by competing 'heroes', thus increasing volume and driving prices down. Just because at any given point in time a 'hero' may be buying up the goods and listing high doesn't mean he will make his money back at all. In fact, it only encourages competing heroes to continue to undercut because they know they can move their goods quickly.

The bottom line is this.. The 50 item limit is high.. If you are crafting stuff and only putting them on the GTN.. Then you need to go back to WOW.. You can re-engineer anything you make and get large portion of your mats back.. Which means you can make more stuff.. Re-engineer those and make yet more stuff.. See how that works.. This isn't wow.. You only need to put one or two of any single item on the GTN at once.. That is it.. You are not the only one putting stuff up.. Nobody that is looking to buy something wants to spend an hour wading through pages of useless stuff because some people forgot that this game isn't WOW!!! Either that or they are just plain rude and selfish when it comes to their fellow players..

Until there is a line item search (Yes, this was complained about in the beta, heavily) the 50 item limit is more than reasonable.. I would actually prefer it to be a 10 item limit.. The people that put a ton of the same item on the GTN simply need to go back to WOW or have their GTN privileges revoked.. Try to remember that you aren't the only person putting the same things on the GTN.. 10 pages of the same item is unacceptable to a buyer.. I will never buy from someone that put pages and pages of the same item on the GTN..
Who is the more foolish? The fool or the fool that follows him?

Hell yeah, right now I have a cargo hold full of stuff. I'd love for someone to get wise-arse and buy everything I listed. I'll just put up a bunch more.

whos falult is that? to actually be resonable.. most WoW players are running for the AH right now becuase they want to be in the upper part of the curve or be the ones to control it. if people figure the AH is going to be the ENDALLS in this game... im sorry they are VERY mistaken. i can make three characters and make anything in the game just mail the mats to the toon that can make it....
These Queue things you speak of... are they a rare drop? i have never seen one. - Darth_Fu
The problem isn't the question, but rather understanding the answer.
The truth is only what you believe it to be... until proven otherwise.

Only sell the stuff that will actually sell. Few people are gonna buy crafted greens en-mass. Prototype and custom rarity items (and higher) are the only ones that seem to move and that's only true if they are priced reasonably.

You'll probably have better luck taking your greens off the market and RE'ing them.
