My only real problem with it is the alternating thread backgrounds shouldn't be the same color as the main background. I think it does suffer a little from not a high enough contrast between all elements. Couldn't see spending serveral hours reading it. Surprisingly it looks like it should look a lot better to someone color blind.

I bet they did it as a way to save energy, the darker screens save quite a big of energy
I have bad spelling do to my being learning disabled , the is just so I do not get asked "why are you spelling so bad?" and I don't wont to have to get asked 100 times, and is in NO way meant to hurt any one feelings after all.. IT is about me!

Usability covers a lot of things that people might be thinking of as design. It covers things like ADA compliance (508 compliance) as well as things related to web conventions (underlining links vs playing "find the clickable items").

just a quick example of a usability problem: The current page you're on in a thread is denoted solely by boldface; that's hard for many people to see; it's not as bad as just using color, but it's still not good. That's not just a design problem: it's a usability problem because it makes it hard for people to keep track of what page they're on

Thank you so much, I suppose I could have Googled that... /facepalm. It sucks that my company forces me to use IE (I am embarrassed to say the version so I will not).... but at least my home browsing will be a lot more comfortable.
  1. Tools > internet options > Fonts
  2. Click the link for "how to ignore preset fonts"
  3. You should get a help page for how to override website font and color settings

Note: I still have IE8 installed because I found an ie7 bug that occured in ie8 but didn't happen in ie9 in ie7 compatibility mode, so YMMV

The line spacing is a little too big, but I like the overall look.

You are using Arial Narrow for the font I think. That's what is making it very cluttered.

Just want to point out:

There is a difference between liking the color scheme (i.e. finding it esthetically pleasing) and disliking it for actual useability (eyestrain) purposes.

I *do* find the color scheme esthetically pleasing to look at. However I can only read a couple of posts before I start getting an eyestrain headache and have to go do something else for a while. Now, many more casual viewers may not care about that. Or even notice it.

The more I look at it the poor contrast on some screens(like the main topic screen and account screens) is really getting to me.

Edit:
Screens like this http://www.swtor.com/server-status and this: http://www.swtor.com/community/member.php?u=53651 Are killing me.

It looks nice, but i think using same color for a background and half of the posts is a bad idea. It somehow reminds me of some old BBS or first html forums.

It's clean, yes, but not entirely eye-friendly.

I like it a lot and above all I hated the old site.
Yo momma's so stupid, she spent all day saying 'am not' to R2!
