Yes, please continue to make excuses for the ineptitude of BioWare. At this point they need all the help they can get.

This. If ruining your Friday night boils down to not being able to play a video game. 1.2 patch is the least of your concerns.

We are expecting the servers to be available again at 6:00PM CDT (April 14th, 12:00AM BST, 1:00AM CEST, 9:00AM AEST).
What a joke. Today we have 12 hours maintenance during EU primetime. Nice work BW, really nice!

I pay 15$ to play 30 days, this week 24h were lost to maintenance. I want my money back.

This is the second MMO I have played, after playing GuildWars for 6 years. A friend gave me a 7 day free trial to SWTOR. I found the graphics worse than a 6 year old game, and poor UI. Nothing about SWTOR was intuitive. The sound track, the story line, and the voice overs were top notch though, and with it being the Star Wars universe I saw great potential. Since GW had been stale for awhile and I was tired of waiting for GW2, I decided to get the game. I bought the Collector's Edition, and a 6 month subscription, at a cost of over $200.

I haven't even been playing this game for a month, and I have seen A LOT of downtime. More downtime in one week than there was in 6 YEARS of playing GuildWars. GuildWars had no weekly downtime, they streamed stuff in the background and occasionally you would simply have to shut the program and restart it. Anytime I had a question about a feature (or lack of one), or a comment about how something in SWTOR could be improved I was either met with intense vitriol and "why don't you play something else" comments, or promises of how things would be improved in a forthcoming 1.2 patch. I was hoping they would combine servers, since unless you are on fleet at a peak time this game seems to be a single player game it is so desolate. I am on The Harbinger which is supposed to be the most populated server.

The vaunted 1.2 patch was rolled out, and I find that I no longer have hope to get a white lightsaber crystal in the future, and the opportunity to buy the CE speeder is gone. I find that I no longer had tooltips when I moused over a skill, and no matter how I changed my settings my head slot armor would not show anymore. I log in today hoping to find these things fixed and I am greeted with servers are down and we don't know when they will be up. I am disappointed, and I feel like I have wasted my money. I should have bought the regular version of the game for $40 and found out that it was this bad in the first month before paying 6 months in advance. Besides the CE in the box stuff CE was a complete waste. The CE store "full of dynamic items" is simply Imperial Trooper light armor. Does anyone at all want to look like an Imperial Trooper? Does a Marauder want to wear light armor?

For many of you it seems this poor level of service and product is acceptable. You will say "thats how it is with MMO's", and tell people to stop whining. I have NEVER spent $200 on a single game before, and to do that and find out that I often can't play it, and when I can it's full of bugs is crappy. Fully 20% of mobs I kill don't even fall on the ground, they just stay frozen in place like they looked at Medusa. I would have a real hard time recommending this game to any friends. I guess I will have to take this as lesson learned, and Pre-order GuildWars2. Do you think there is any chance I could get my 6 month subscription refunded? I haven't even used my first 30 days that came with the game yet.

Man, this is a joke.

On Wednesday some players accidentally download the patch and are forced to redownload the entire game. Miscommunication exacerbates the problem, but BioWare offers three days of free game time to those affected to compensate.

The day after a major update the servers are taken down for a patch that seems to make very little changes to the game, other than breaking a lot of things that were previously working.

Now the game cannot be played today by most people. Even the estimated uptime might not be kept, but if it is, anyone in Europe, for example, will likely not get any play time today (since it is expected to come up at midnight at the earliest).

If this had happened before the patch it wouldn't have been as big an issue, but many players have returned or planned to play more since there is new content. That makes the disappointment felt by these players even greater than it would have been normally.

My recommendation: test your patches before implementing them. This patch the day after a major update was obviously not tested or not tested enough. Were the fixes included in it really that essential to rush through?

Man, BioWare, I really like you as a game studio. You do a lot of things right. But all these recent blunders are so amateurish that I am steadily losing some of my former respect for you. I was loving the additions in 1.5, but now I can't play at all, after already losing 1.2 days due to the April 11th patch bug.
